Written Examination (Prelims)
The English language, numeric aptitude, and reasoning ability parts of the IBPS Preliminary Exam make the first step of the selection process. Candidates must achieve the required overall and sectional cutoff scores. Each correct answer will lose 0.25 points.
IBPS RRB exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as marking scheme, total marks, number of sections, duration of exam, etc.. Before beginning with the preparation, candidates must go through IBPS RRB exam pattern thoroughly. As per IBPS RRB exam pattern, the prelims exam is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 1 and Office Assistant (Multipurpose). The total marks allotted to the test are 80. The mains exam of IBPS RRB is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 1 and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and carries 200 marks. The single online exam is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 2 & 3 . The Interview carries 100 marks and is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 1, Officers Scale 2 & 3. There is no interview for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose).
For correct answer, one mark is awarded. For incorrect answers, 0.25 marks are deducted The score is calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers.
The English Language section of IBPS Clerk carries questions of high school. Candidates should read newspapers and books. Candidates should read the editorial section of the newspapers to improve their vocabulary.
Written Examination (Mains)
Candidates who passed the preliminary exam can take the main ease into four sections: English Language; Data Analysis and Interpretation; Logical and Computer Awareness; General/Banking; and Economy Awareness. Each incorrect response will result in a 0.25-point deduction for multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
Personal Interview
Those who pass the main exam are invited to an in-person interview. The total number of marks is 100; the cutoff for general applicants is 40%; for SC/ST/OBC candidates, it is above 35%.
Final Selection
The primary exam and the personal interview will be considered when choosing the candidates. They will be given a weighting of 80:20, respectively. After the interview, the final merit list will be made public, and candidates will be given the option to join a letter in the bank.
Responsibilities of a Bank PO
- A Bank PO must complete a two-year preparation probationary period for this section-level position before being hired as an assistant manager.
- Administrative tasks, such as managing administrative work, are performed by a PO. You may be invited to participate in any type of bank-related activity before the 2-year completion deadline.
- You will be ready to have practical finance, accounting, marketing, and investing knowledge during the probationary period.
- You will be posted as an Assistant Bank Manager in any bank office once your probationary period is over. PO must also serve in the capacity of a public relations officer.
- A bank PO can also issue chequebooks, demand draughts, ATM cards, and other items.
Responsibilities of an IBPS Clerk
- The person to ask questions to and who directs the customer in each bank is an Institute of Banking workforce (IBPS) Clerk.
- They are responsible for the storage and withdrawal of client money.
- Additionally, upon the consent of trained professionals, they deliver chequebooks.
- The bank agent provides ESI stamps and money receipts. Nowadays, most bank employees' job responsibilities involve using a computer.
