SSC CGL 2022 exam pattern has been revised and changed by the Commission. The candidates can check here the new SSC CGL exam pattern and the components introduced in the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam with their anticipated impact on the results.
SSC CGL 2022 notification was released online on September 17. The Commission notified that there will be over 20,000 vacancies in the exam. The number of vacancies is more compared to the previous year’s vacancies. A higher number of vacancies implies a lower cutoff at each stage of the exam. The Commission will release the SSC CGL 2022 vacancy details soon. The official notification did not mention the post-wise vacancies in the exam. This year, the Commission has made some changes in the overall exam pattern and syllabus. Earlier, SSC CGL Exam had four tiers but now it will have two tiers only. SSC CGL Tier-3 and Tier-4 have been removed from the selection process. The last date for SSC CGL 2022 online application is October 13.
SSC CGL 2022 exam will be conducted in December 2022. The exact exam dates of the SSC CGL Teir 1 exam 2022 will be released soon. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has changed the exam pattern and syllabus of the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam. This is not clear whether this is a onetime exercise to expedite the exam process or a permanent fixture. The candidates were not expecting the change in the exam pattern of the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam because the Commission did not inform them about any such change.

SSC CGL 2022 New Exam Pattern
SSC changed the exam pattern of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 2 exam pattern. There is no change in the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam. Therefore, most candidates will not experience any change in the exam pattern. SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is conducted online as a Computer-Based Examination (CBE). SSC CGL Tier 1 filter out most candidates and the real competition start in the Tier 2 stage.
The candidates who clear the Tier 1 exam will be called for Tier 2. SSC CGL Tier 2 exam pattern has been changed drastically. Earlier, the SSC CGL Tier 3 stage was there that included the qualifying skill test/Data Entry Speed Test (DEST). SSC CGL Tier 3 was qualifying only and the candidates were required to score minimum qualification in the test. SSC CGL Tier 3 was followed by the Document Verification (DV) stage, which was conducted by the regional officers of the SSC.
Under the current notification, the DV process is outsourced to the concerned departments where the candidate will be appointed. Therefore, the DV stage is separated from the exam process.
The skill test is now included in the SSC CGL Tier 2. General Awareness and Computer Awareness are also added in the Tier 2 paper which will make it difficult because the candidates find the general awareness hard to prepare and sometimes it can make or break the dream of success in the SSC CGL exam
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
SSC did not change the Tier 1 exam pattern. It will remain the same as in the previous years. The candidates can see here the summarised version of the SSC CGL exam.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern: Old vs New

SSC CGL Tier 2 New Exam Pattern Analysis
Following are some points which are important to consider.
- In the new SSC CGL Tier 2 exam pattern, the importance of English has been reduced from a separate section to a section of the paper.
- The addition of General Awareness in Tier 2 has made the paper difficult because the candidates always find it hard to prepare the General Awareness topic because of the paucity of the exact syllabus.
- Now the Data Entry module is added to the paper instead of a separate tier.
The candidates should start preparing the General Awareness and Computer Knowledge because these two sections will increase the chances of selection in the SSC CGL 2022 exam.
