Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam nationwide every year to recruit candidates for the posts Group B (Gazetted & Non-Gazetted) and Group C. The Commission follows the mandate of the Ministry of Personnel to conduct the exam and recruit candidates for the Central Government Ministries and offices across the nation.

This year the Commission changed the exam pattern in the SSC CGL exam. The sectional timing is introduced in both the Tiers. A brand-new Paper-III also added in Tier 2 but only for AAO posts.

SSC CGL Admit Card 2026
The Commission will release the SSC CGL Tier 1 admit card 2026 on ssc.gov.in under the candidate's login. The candidates will be required to download their admit card so that they can show them at the examination centre. The admit card is an important document that needs to be carried by the candidate. If candidates forget to carry the hall ticket at the examination centre then he or she will not be able to sit in the examination. SSC CGL Question Paper & Answer Key 2026
The Staff Selection Commission will release the SSC CGL Tier 1 answer key on its official website - ssc.gov.in. The Commission first releases the tentative answer key and asked the candidates to send objections against the incorrect answers. The candidates will be required to login to download their SSC CGL answer key. The candidates got the opportunity to send objections against the incorrect answers given in the tentative answer key. Nationality Requirement for SSC CGL Exam
To Join the Indian Bureaucracy, the candidates must belong to India. As per the official notification, A candidate must be a citizen of India, a person of Indian origin, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee.
SSC CGL Age Limit
Age Criteria is an important aspect of the exam. The candidates must confirm to the age criteria lad down by the Staff Selection Commission. The candidates should note that the Commission mention different SSC CGL age limit for different posts. The three major age criteria as defined in the official notification.
Age Limit 1 - 18 to 27 years
Candidate born earlier than 02-08-1999 and later than 01-08-2008 are not eligible.
Age Limit 2 - 20 to 30 years
Candidate born earlier than 02-08-1996 and later than 01-08-2006 are not eligible.
Age Limit 3 - 18 to 30 years
Candidate born earlier than 02-08-1996 and later than 01-08-2008 are not eligible.

The age will be counted on August 1 of the exam year.

A candidate should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute with any percentage.
SSC CGL Eligibility Date Revised
SSC has clarified that new application deadline will now be treated as the date for determining candidates' eligibility wherever closing date was mentioned in original examination notice. Apart from revised application related dates, all other terms and conditions will remain unchanged.

The Commission will declare the SSC Combined Graduate Level Result 2026 at ssc.gov.in. The SSC CGL result pdf mentioning the roll number, names, parents name, category and marks secured in the exam.
How to Check SSC CGL Result 2026?
The candidates will be required to check their result in the following manner:

- Open the relevant post-wise result (for which the candidate applied for)

Candidates will be able to download their result from the official website by using their logging credentials including the registration ID and password. Along with the result, the authority will release the SSC CGL Cutoff for each post-group and category separately.
SSC CGL Tie Resolution
The Commission can change the SSC CGL Tie Resolution formula with a simple notice. The candidates should note that the Commission will release the SSC CGL Tie-Resolution formula in the official notification as well in the result pdf. The Commission will also release the SSC CGL Cutoff in a format that will help in arriving at the Tie-Resolution.
The Commission mentioned the principle for the resolution of Tie cases among the candidates in the official notification. The Commission reiterates it in the final result pdf. In the event of tie scores of candidates in Tier 2, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria, one after another in the order, till the tie is resolved:
- Marks scored in Paper-II & Paper-III of Tier-II Examination for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer, respectively, if applicable.
- Marks scored in Section-I of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination.
- Date of birth, with the older candidates, placed higher.
- Alphabetical order in which the names of the candidates appear

The Staff Selection Commission, the conducting body for the exam, releases the SSC CGL notification.
