CTET 2021 exam will be held either in December 2021 or January 2022, as per the official notice of the CBSE. The uncertainty over the conduct of CTET exam has puzzled the candidates whether the exam will be held in 2021. Read further to know more details.

CTET_2021

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2021 examination has not been conducted uptil now amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The last edition of the CTET exam was held in January 2021. This was the fourteenth edition of the CTET exam. Aspirants are waiting eagerly for the conduct of fifteenth edition of the CTET exam as qualifying the exam will make them eligible to apply for teacher recruitment in central schools such as KVS, NVS and others.

Earlier on July 31, 2021, the CTET Director released an official public notice informing the candidates that the CTET exam will be conducted during December 2021/ January 2022. However, the exact dates of the CTET exam have not been announced yet. The uncertainty over the conduct of the CTET exam has left the candidates perplexed on whether the exam will be held in 2021 or 2022.

As per the current scenario, it is most likely that the CTET exam will be held in 2021 itself as various organisations and governments have started to hold the exams that were postponed due to the COVID. Some of these exams are JEE Mains, NEET PG, UPSC NDA, SBI Clerk, IBPS RRB, SSC CGL, UPSC IAS, UPSC CAPF, MAHA TET, HP TET, OTET, KSET and several others.

As there is no official update by the CBSE in this regard, candidates are suggested to wait until the release of official notification. The CTET notification 2021 is expected to release anytime now. The notification will contain important dates regarding the online CTET application form, release of CTET admit card, and the conduct of exam.

CTET 2021 exam to be conducted online

The official notice clearly states that the CTET exam will now be held online from now onwards. The move is aimed at aligning the conduct of the CTET exam National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 that emphasizes on digital literacy, use of technology and digital pedagogy to transform the entire country into a digitally empowered society. The move will also help teachers become computer literate.

CTET Facilitation Centres

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will now set up various facilitation centres at the district level for the CTET exam. At these facilitation centres, candidates will be allowed to use the facility of attempting online CTET mock tests free of cost. These mock tests will enable candidates to get familiar with the online conduct of the CTET exam. This will help them in attaining speed and accuracy while attempting the CTET question paper.

According to the NCTE notification, candidates require 60% or more to pass the CTET examination. The minimum marks required by a candidate being a General category to qualify the CTET exam is 90 out of 150 and for SC, ST, OBC and PwD is 82 out of 150.
