UPSC prelims will be conducted on October 4 and the candidates need to stay focused for the exam. IAS prelims 2020 will be conducted under the toughest conditions which require the candidate to follow all the COVID-19 protocols to stay safe and beside it, answer the questions of IAS prelims exam.

The IAS prelims exam is one of the toughest exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Civil Services Exam is conducted by UPSC to recruit the candidates for the All-India Services and Civil Services. The IAS prelims 2020 is different in various ways because of Coronavirus pandemic and the condition of the flood across the northern part of the country.

The candidates can follow these last-minute tips to perform better in the UPSC 2020 prelims exam.

Keep Calm and Patient

The UPSC prelims 2020 will test the patience of the candidates besides subjective knowledge. The IAS aspirant must remain calm even if they cannot answer multiple questions in the IAS 2020 prelims because in the IAS question paper the questions are very tough and most of the times, the candidates don’t even know about the context of the question.

Revision

The candidates should revise the topics from books or the self-made notes. It is very important not to study new things for the IAS prelims exam at the last moment. The candidates should revise the existing study material multiple times. The candidates should try to interlink the topics of current affairs with the General Studies fundamentals. The prelims exam ask interdisciplinary questions and the candidates should also follow the same approach.

Make Acronyms

With the revision, the candidates should devise acronyms to learn the factual information and the inter-relation among the topics. These acronyms help in eliminating the wrong answers from the given options. It can help in the IAS prelims immensely and they are easy to remember.

CSAT Paper

The candidates should remember that the CSAT paper is qualifying in nature but the candidates should not take it casually. The candidates should practice for the CSAT paper with the previous year IAS question papers and mock tests because sometimes it became tough to score qualifying marks without practice.

Train your mind

The candidate should start practising their daily routine as required for the exam day. It is very important because the body needs time to switch over from one routine to others. The UPSC IAS Notification 2026 has been postponed due to administrative reasons. The Commission released a notice on its official website - upsc.gov.in regarding this. The Commission will also revise the last date for UPSC applications.
