A. My father is a civil servant, my mother is a lecturer at college, and my sister is pursuing her MBA degree. Q. When did you start preparing for CUET Exam? What all books did you refer to?
A. I started preparing for CUET Exam 2022 after my boards. Since the syllabi of the boards and the CUET were almost the same and we had appeared in the first term exams in the MCQ format, I had some rough ideas on how to go about with the preparation. As for the books, NCERTs are the main ones. Besides, I also referred to Oswaal and Arihant for test papers. Reading newspapers helped me in the language domain. YouTube videos were also quite a help in my preparation.

Q. How much time did you devote to self-study? What do you feel is better, coaching or self-study?
A. I started preparing after my 12th board exams and preferred self-study; I did not opt for any coaching. Since questions in the CUET exam stick to the syllabus, I feel the NCERT books and free online study material available are good enough. So self-study will suffice.
Q. How did you prepare for CUET UG, just a month before the exam?
A. I started first with the portions of the syllabus that were not included in the CBSE board exam syllabus, followed by the other portions of the syllabus. I made small notes too that I revised again before exams and used to watch youtube videos that solved questions related to CUET.
Q. How many domain tests did you appear in the CUET exam?
A. I appeared in four domain-specific paper - English, political science, sociology, psychology, and economics - along with the general test.
Q. Which subject is your strong one and which is the weakest? Are NCERT books sufficient for preparations?
A. I felt economics and general test to be a tad harder and required more focus. Yes, NCERT books are sufficient for preparation. But for English, I read newspapers, practiced idioms, and brushed up on various foundational concepts.
Q. When it came to exam day, what was your strategy? According to you, what was the toughest and easiest section?
A. On exam day, I feel it's very important to stay calm. Sometimes the computer at the exam center may not work properly, but we should not panic as it increases our chances to make silly mistakes. After completing the paper, I rechecked my answers twice.
