National Testing Agency conducts CUET UG examination for admission to UG courses offered by central, state, private and deemed universities across India. CUET Accountancy is a core subject for commerce stream students, and it becomes important to prioritise the right topics. Focusing on the important units with the help of CUET 2026 Accountancy important topics and chapter-wise weightage will help candidates ace the CUET accounts exam.

CUET date 2026 will be announced with the release of official exam notification. CUET UG 2026 will be scheduled tentatively in May/June 2026. It will be a computer-based test (CBT). NTA will release the official CUET notification 2026 tentatively in first week of March 2026. Q:   What is the CUET marking scheme?
A:

NTA prescribes the CUET UG marking scheme. Check below to know the CUET UG marking scheme 2026:

  • Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
  • Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
  • Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
  • If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
  • If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
  • If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.
Q:   Which subjects have been removed in CUET UG?
A:

UGC has announced the deletion of 26 subjects from CUET UG 2025 onwards. CUET UG 20 foreign languages and six domain subjects have been removed. Check the list below to know the name of the subjects:

  • Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Manipuri, Santhali, Sanskrit, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, Chinese)
  • Domain Subjetcs (Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Legal Studies, Engineering Graphics)

CUET Accounts Syllabus 2026

 Candidates must refer to the table below to know the CUET syllabus for Accountancy.

Unit 1: Accounting for Partnership

  • Nature of Partnership Firm
  • Final Accounts of Partnership

Unit 2: Reconstitution of Partnership

  • Changes in profit-sharing ratio among the existing partners – Sacrificing ratio and Gaining ratio.
  • Accounting for Revaluation of Assets and Liabilities and Distribution of reserves and accumulated
    profits.
  • Goodwill: Nature, Factors affecting and Methods of valuation: Average profit, Super profit,
    Multiplier and Capitalisation methods.
  • Admission of a Partner: Effect of admission of partner, Change in profit sharing ratio, accounting
    treatment for goodwill, Revaluation of assets and liabilities, Reserves (accumulated profits) and
    adjustment of capitals.
  • Retirement/Death of a Partner: Change in profit sharing ratio, accounting treatment of goodwill,
    revaluation of assets and liabilities, Adjustment of accumulated profits (Reserves). 

Unit 3: Dissolution of Partnership Firm

  • Meaning, Settlement of accounts: Preparation of realisation account and related accounts
    (excluding piecemeal distribution, sale to a company and insolvency of a Partner)
    Unit IV: Company Accounts: Accounting for Share and Debenture
  • Share Capital: Meaning, Nature and Types
  • Accounting for Share Capital: Issue and Allotment of Equity and Preference Shares; Over
    subscription and under subscription; Issue at par, premium and at discount; Calls in advance, Calls
    in arrears, Issue of shares for consideration other than cash.
  • Forfeiture of Shares: Accounting treatment, Re-issue of forfeited shares.
  • Presentation of shares and Debentures Capital in the company’s balance sheet.
  • Issue of Debenture – At par, premium and discount; Issue of debentures for consideration other
    than cash.

  • Overview of Computerised Accounting System

Q:   What are the latest changes in CUET UG exam?
A:

National Testing Agency has not introduced any specific changes for CUET UG 2026. However, in CUET 2025, NTA introduced major changes like

  • Reduction of CUET subjects from 63 to 37
  • GAT scores will be used for dropped subjects
  • Exma to be held CBT mode only
  • Compulsory 50 questions in each subject, no optional questions
  • Maximum five CUET subjects can be chosen 

The above changes are to continued for CUET UG 2026 exam.

Q:   What are the changes in CUET 2026?
A:

National Testing Agency has informed that there are no significant changes in CUET UG 2026. The pattern and syllabus shall remain same. The CUET UG 2026 exam consists of 37subjects- 13 langauges, 23 domain subjects and General Aptitude Test. As per the recent notification, candidates must make sure to update their Aadhar card and UDID cards. It is expected that CUET exam centre 2026 will be alloted based on candidate's updated address.

Total 30 seats are available for admission in JUIT BBA programme as per official admission disclosure. Out of these 30 seats for JUIT BBA, 50% are filled through direct admission based on class 10+2 merit, and rest 50% are filled based on CUET (UG) Score.

No, CUET is not required for Nalanda Open University admissions. The university is an Open University and offers courses through online and distance learning mode. Hence, no selection rounds are conducted. Students can apply simply by completing the Class 12/ Graduation as per the course.

USWL, Karnavati University accepts CUET scores for admission to BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons) courses. However, it is not mandatory. Aspirants with CLAT score can also apply. Candidates can also appear for KUAT conducted by Karnavati University for admission to UG Law courses.
