In case a candidate is not able to download his/ her admit card then the Chairman JAM of the IIT/ IISc under which the first choice of test city falls may be contacted through phone/ fax/ email. However, while contacting, the candidate should provide his/ her “online enrolment ID, name, email ID, mobile number, mailing address, and city code of the desired test centre (first choice) to get information about the registration number and the name of the test centre allotted, ” informs the official website.

Candidates has to paste their postcard-size photograph of 4"x6" dimension on the IIT JAM 2025 admit card. The photograph should have been the same as that uploaded during the IIT JAM 2025 application process. They also had to ensure that the photograph is clearly visible and legible and fulfills the guidelines given by IIT Madras, the examination conducting body.

 The photograph had to be pasted properly on the admit card so that it does not drop off from the document. The photograph should have followed the parameters given below:

• The photograph should not be older than January 2024
• The photograph should have been taken against a white background
• The face should occupy at least 50% of the area of the photograph with a full-face view looking into the camera directly.

Apart from the IIT JAM 2025 admit card, candidates must carry the following documents and items to the examination centre:

• Passport-sized photograph (same as the one uploaded with the application form)
• A valid photo Id proof (Aadhaar card/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter Id)
• Facemask and hand gloves

The IIT JAM 2025 entrance exam does not require students to stick to a specific dress code. You can typically get away with wearing casual outfits. However, many exams however, especially ones at a professional level, may benefit from more formal apparel (e.g., wearing a shirt and trouser). Some institutions may have specific guidelines (e.g., wear shirts or t-shirts, jeans or trousers, and recommend against women wearing high heels.)

After downloading your IIT JAM admit card, take the following steps:

Verify Your Details: Carefully check all the information printed on the admit card, including your name, roll number, exam date, time, and exam center address. Ensure all details are accurate. If you find any discrepancies, contact the exam authorities immediately for rectification.

Locate Your Exam Center: Use maps or online resources to familiarize yourself with the location of your exam center. If possible, do a trial run to the center to estimate travel time and identify potential traffic issues.

Plan Your Travel: Based on the exam timing and your location, plan your transportation to the exam center. Ensure you have a backup plan in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Gather Required Documents: Collect all the necessary documents, including your admit card, a valid photo ID, and any other specified documents. Keep them organized and readily accessible.

In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signature shown on the IIT JAM 2025 admit card, candidates should immediately approach the IIT JAM Help Line between 10.00 A.M. and 5.00 P.M. 

Hence, candidates need not worry about the possibility of not getting allowed inside the IIT JAM 2025 exam centre. However, they must follow up with the examination conducting body before the commencement of the admission process.  

Yes, it is important that you print out your IIT JAM admit card.

Entry Requirement: The admit card is your official entry pass to the examination hall. You will not be permitted to enter the examination centre, and write the exam, without it. 

Verification: You will be asked by the invigilators to provide your admit card and original photo ID for verification, before you are permitted entry. 

Exam Details: Furthermore, the admit card contains all relevant details such as, the exam date and time, examination centre address, roll number, and important instructions.

You are required to carry a valid photo ID for the IIT JAM examination. Usually, the photo IDs are as follows:  
Aadhaar Card  
PAN Card  
Driving License   
Voter ID Card   
Passport  
College ID Card (with photograph)  
Any other government-issued photo ID card.

The exam authorities will take the following actions: 

Verification: The exam authorities will verify the reported discrepancy, and take whatever action is appropriate. 
Correction (if appropriate): If the discrepancy is substantiated, the authorities will adjust or correct your application as required. 
Notification: You will be notified of the outcome of your discrepancy report via email and/or official website.

In general, no, you should not wear jewellery to the IIT JAM exam centre.

Security Checks: You are likely to have to go through security checks by way of metal detectors at the entrance. Jewellery can trigger metal detectors and causes delays, and can only be annoying at the examination.
Distraction: You may find if you wear jewellery, it can be distracting in the exam and be uncomfortable. You need to consider this and take jewellery off and leaving it at home or preventing any unnecessary issues during the exam.

There have some serious consequences when bringing prohibited items to take any IIT JAM exams: 

Disqualification from the Exam: You can be disqualified from the exam, meaning your test could be taken away from you, and you could leave the examination room with the exam immediately invalidated. 
Seizure of Items: Any prohibited item found on your person will be taken from you by the exam officials. 
Possibly Criminal Action: Depending upon the item and the terms of the examination centre, in some cases bringing a prohibited item may incur some form of charges.

The policies for the IIT JAM exam often ban candidates from wearing caps or hats when sitting in the exam hall. Making sure the examination is fair and secure is the purpose of this policy. While there may be no cap or hat policy written on the IIT JAM examination instructions, the general dress code may state 'no head coverings', in order to be free of suspicion of hiding cheating devices and for any obstruction of view the examiners may not be aware of. Only an examination board can investigate a breach of the examination instructions or roles, you should follow the official exam day instructions and guidelines to avoid this and potential disqualification (see IIT JAM website for instructions and guidelines).

After downloading the admit card of IIT JAM 2025, candidates will have to do the following:

• Take at least two copies of colour printout in an A4 size paper

• Check the details printed on the admit card

• Paste your photograph on the space provided but do not sign in the absence of invigilators

• Get the IIT JAM admit card signed by parents/guardians

• Contact the examination authority in case any of the information printed on the admit card is wrong to get it rectified

Scribes will be arranged for those PwD candidates who have requested to be provided with a scribe at the time of application.
Qualification of the scribe arranged by test center will NOT be more than the minimum eligibility criteria of JAM 2026. However, the qualification of the scribe will be matriculation (10th) or above. If there are Y candidates who require scribe, it will be ensured that a panel of (Y+1) scribes is available at the exam centre so that every candidate can have an alternative scribe to choose for the services.

 While uploading the files, candidates must ensure that they do so in the suggested resolution. In case the PDF file or the printout does not display a clear photograph or signature, candidates need to check the PDF resolution again and check for clarity. If it is still not clear enough, then they have to approach the exam officials and seek solutions.
