Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University BTech is offered across multiple specialisations. These are offered through the affiliated colleges as well. The BTech specialisations offered by the university are Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, etc. Selection for AKTU BTech course admission is based on JEE (Main) and CUET-UG (for some specialisations). AKTU is a state-level, public collegiate university. Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), it is a University of National Importance, specially for the UG and PG courses offered in the field of Engineering and Science. AKTU is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Coming to the AKTU placements, the university has not released the placement report for the year 2023. However, as per media reports, 1,531 students were selected in TCS. AKTU BTech Admission Dates 2026
AKTU admission to the BTech course is based on the entrance exam score. The university and its affiliated colleges accept admission through various entrance exams. DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University is expected to conduct a total of six rounds for CUET-UG-qualified candidates. However, the cutoff rounds are conducted as per seat availability. If seats are available after AKTU round six of the counselling process, the University will release the special round to fulfil their vacant seats.
The total course fee for the BTech programme at AKTU ranges between INR 35,600 and INR 12.5 lakh. AKTU BTech admissions is offered based on JEE Main scores. AKTU scholarships are offered to meritorious students belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC category under the regulations of the UP State Scholarship scheme. Every year, UP State releases a notification for fee reimbursement for the students of AKTU and its affiliated colleges.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam takes place in the month of April every year. Whereas, the application form for Session 2 will be available on the JEE Mains website. The exam is conducted by NTA.
CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in May/June for 37 subjects. The mode of examination is CBT (Computer Based Test). NTA did not release official notification for CUET UG date sheet.
