Yes, candidates seeking admission to DR. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University undergraduate and postgraduate courses must have appeared for the CUET-UG and CUET-PG entrance exams, respectively. AKTU will not admit students who do not a valid CUET score. NTA usually releases CUET result in July. CUET UG Counselling is held and conducted separately by the participating institutes. CUET UG Counselling is usually held between Jul and Aug.
AKTU is a state-level, public collegiate university. The direct admission is provided only on vacant seats at institution or college level. The eligibility criteria for direct admission on seats remaining vacant in the first year after entrance examination counselling shall be such as may be notified from time to time. The general admission process for AKTU BTech course is through entrance exam. The university accepts national or state-level entrance exams like JEE Main, CUET, KEAM or IPU CET.
The selection will be followed by counselling. The counselling process of shortlisted candidates will be managed and regulated by AKTU based on which the candidates will be allotted seats. AKTU BTech fee includes tuition fees, hostel and admission charges, etc. Students may have to pay some initial amount at the time of admissions to confirm their seats. The AKTU fee is different across all colleges and branches. Students can also opt for hostel facilities provided by their college. The hostel fee also varies as per the college. Students have to deposit hostel charges separately.
In addition, students can also get AKTU BTech fee refund in case of admission cancellation. The university follows UGC refund guidelines. Candidates can get 100% refund on or before 15 days of last date of admission. After this, 50%, 80% and 90% amount is refunded depending on the time of cancellation. AKTU BTech Admission Dates 2026
AKTU BTech admission is based on the entrance exam score. The university and its affiliated colleges accept admission through various entrance exams. Some of these exams are JEE Main, CUET UG, etc. The JEE Mains exam is conducted in two sessions. Session 1 is conducted in January and session 2 is held in April. - Cultural Fests and Events: Annually, various events are organised such as TechKriti, Robowar, RoboRace, Frugal Engineering, Check your Knowledge, Just a Minute, English Debate, Hindi Debate, Business Plan, Coding Contest and Technical Poster Making.
- Technical Fests: As a technical university, UPTU University Lucknow organises events such as hackathons, coding and robotics competitions, etc.
- There are more than 700 colleges affiliated with Doctor APJ Abdul Kalam University Lucknow offering all the campus facilities to the students. Most of them provide hostel facilities including a dining hall, yoga centre, gym, sports ground, etc.
