The best college, based on my experience.

Placements: There are a lot of seminars held at the college, giving students an opportunity to shine in the field of Science. Stipends are given as Junior Research Fellowships after cracking the NET/GATE or relevant exams. Since the courses offered by the college are not professional, very few companies come for placements. Mostly, research scholarships are offered to students who are scientific and good at academics. 3-4% of students get placed. Companies that come for placements are Oracle, Infosys, etc.

Infrastructure: The faculty is top-notch, with good laboratories and experienced staff who help you to have hands-on experience in conducting experiments. The libraries have very good reference books with easy access. I took up Zoology because it's obviously an interesting subject, and also because it is a very basic subject from which multiple avenues open. The hostel facility is very good but costly, but it is genuine according to the facilities they provide. There are double shared rooms with AC and mainly a separate bathroom of your own. The hostel has a total capacity of 180 students only.

Faculty: I chose this course because it is the best college providing an M.Sc. in Zoology in Kolkata. The faculty-student ratio is 1:4. All the faculty members in Maulana Azad College have completed their Ph.D. They conduct smart classes to teach us. Term exams are in the form of semesters, recurring after every 6 months. The faculty are very involved in their respective courses. They are extremely dedicated to their coursework. The courses are designed very scientifically to include every aspect of our professional careers.

Teachers are very friendly and helpful. They are ready to help anytime.

Placements: As internships are part of our course, we were taken to NGOs, the High Court, the Park Hotel, and Sundarbans to do our employment skill enhancement internship. Our teachers made that path. We didn't get any stipend offer because it's the course structure. Other than that, AJC Bose doesn't have any courses that can lead to an internship.

Infrastructure: AJC Bose College celebrates every cultural occasion, from Saraswati Puja to Eid. For students, AJC Bose Student Council throws two big parties, which are Holi and Saraswati Puja. The library has all the books needed for the available courses, apart from that, students get expanded digital library support. Free Wi-Fi is available. AJC Bose has an NCC structure for students. Socially, the seniors or super seniors are very friendly and helpful.

Faculty: The exam papers that are set by the college are moderately hard. They set very expected, selective questions, and teachers check answer sheets quite hard. Personally, every faculty from this college is moderately good, so far, there are no strong complaints against AJC Bose. The faculty I like the most is the expanded library, digital library, and upgraded labs. The faculty is quite helpful and approachable.

The environment of the college is very good.

Placements: Students with eligible qualifications are given opportunities to attend various job fairs and campus placements conducted in the college. The opportunity is usually given to students in their final year or semester. Various national as well as international companies offer interesting jobs with exciting salaries. Salaries can range from 10,000 to several lakhs based on the post offered. If students are looking for higher studies after post-graduation, they can opt for Ph.D., M.Phil, B.Ed., etc.

Infrastructure: So many hostels in our hostel up to the 3rd year, all rooms are triple shareable. After the 3rd year, single rooms are present. In-room, one single B.Ed., one desk, chair, light, fan, Wi-Fi, electricity are available. Infrastructure is good for living. The registration process is a little difficult because the University has some conditions like your present address distance being more than 60 km from your college campus. If it is more than that, you can easily submit documents with all ID proof. Then the University publishes a list, and if you are selected, you will be eligible for hostel admission. Meals are good and hygienic. Lunch and dinner are available. If you want to rent a room, then many options are there like PG, mess, flat. Hostel Fee: INR 1652 per year.

Faculty: The course helps in getting a better job, and I can study animal things more effectively. The ratio of faculty to students is like 10:1. There are a lot of teachers, but students are only 90. All faculty are highly qualified, and they have experience of more than 10 years. Their teaching method is average, and some teachers are very bad at teaching. Exams happen very timely, with one internal and one external exam in each semester. The questions are average and not much difficult to pass. Class size: 56 Course fees: INR 18000 per year.

The campus life is very best.

Placements: Since the courses offered by the college are not professional, very few companies come for placements. Companies that come for placements are oracle, Infosys, etc. Geo Wild and other such platforms also appear to give students a chance to choose such careers. I am doing an M.Sc. in Zoology currently.

University of calcutta is one of the best government in India.

Placements: Well some companies do come for placement but that is very few times. Actually maximum students from our department choose to go for Ph.D. and research work. And every batch has a good no. Of students those get jrf and do Ph.D. in well khown institutes. Like I am in M.Sc. And till in our batch 5 students got jrf and are preparing for Ph.D. in institutes.

Faculty: All faculty of this university are well educated with good presenting abilities that help us to properly understand the concept. Per sem. We attend the examination & overall good One other thing in post graduation course here's 4 semesters & total duration of 2 years. But In Aiph College it is complete 1 year only. Having positive side & negative side both. The positive side is - It saves time for students like 1 year. The negative side is - It create pressure on students which is not a bigger issue, causing a bad effect.

Other: I want to complete my post-graduation with distinction, so I'm looking for a university with a low package. That's why I'm going through it.

It is the only good college for zoology subject in India.

Placements: The study of zoology provides opportunities for a wide range of research activities. Job opportunities are available in the zoological society of India. Nowadays, many science students are studying zoology, and their goal is to get postgraduate from the University of Calcutta.

Infrastructure: Students have many opportunities to study here. They provide air-conditioned classrooms, a digital library, teachers' support, etc. There is a hostel to study at a very low cost with a very good learning environment for each student. The hostel has sports, bodybuilding, etc. Cultural aspects are also taken seriously.

Faculty: Every professor at this university is very helpful and friendly. All are very good researchers and scientists which is a pleasure to study with them. There is much to learn here and students can work in big places. These students are leaders in a different field.

Other: I have chosen this course with curiosity and emotions. Nowadays, good researches opportunities depend on it. The college celebrated Teachers day and Reunion programme named Spanda was held on our campus.

Facilities and curriculum is average.

Placements: This course doesn't provide any placement. It can be followed by Ph.D. in the core subject. After the completion of the degree you can go ahead with further studies from the university itself by attending their entrance or NET, or you can seat for other examinations to get a teaching job.

Infrastructure: I have not been a part of their hostel facility as it was my hometown, but I have heard getting hostel inside the university is diffi, it is recommended if you are staying away from your hometown, plan your stay prior to initiation of your classes.

Faculty: Teachers from hour college were helpful and knowledgeable. If you want to get into research studies and want to get you Ph.D. I would suggest this course. Also the library has some amazing books from authors who are specialized in these topics. You can easily find some of the best books for reference and notes.

The college that made me who I am now.

Placements: Most students went for Ph.D. There is no provision for placements as such. Students got internships and projects through NET exam. Internships were at Calcutta University, Bose Institute, IISC, ICMR and other prestigious institutes. Other students could get jobs as Medical Representatives or Project managers at institutes. All of this was outsourced by the students themselves.

Infrastructure: Labs, Classrooms, Library were really good. Whatever was required was readily available to all. Library had huge number of books related to the subject. There were multiple copies for some while others had single copies. Books were available for photocopying. It was not a hostel campus. Quality of food in canteen was average. Sports facilities were available. Sports contest were held every year.

Faculty: Teachers were all highly accomplished and qualified. Teaching quality was above average. Yes it is relevant because conservation of animals and ecosystem is the need right now. Besides that, biotechnology and cell biology related research is carried out for the benefit of the pharmaceutical industry.

Other: I chose this course because of my interest in the subject. I got to learn a lot about my favourite topics. I wish we could have placements from our college. We had sports and reunion every year which was a cultural festival organised by the students.
