I am satisfied because of its faculty members, location, and campus.
Placements: It is one of the best colleges for getting knowledge about polymers, and this is the best college for opting B.Tech in polymer science and rubber technology. The top recruiting companies are Reliance, CEAT, and MRF. The highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA, also get good internships from several institutes and other companies.
Infrastructure: It provides a centralized library as well as a library in every department. It has the best food and has high-quality food at a low price. Wi-Fi is available in the library. There are also options for sports like football, cricket, and volleyball. There are sports events also. The medical facility is also available.
Faculty: Teachers are good and qualified. However, some teachers are not up to expectations even though they are qualified. The teaching quality is also preferable. The course curriculum is relevant, it helps students to get into the world of science and helps them focus. Semester examination is conducted after 3-4 months after the semester starts.
Other: It has lots of events like tech fest and Dhishna conducted by every department.

One of the best places to study about polyners with a good placement record.
Placements: I got placed in SRF Ltd. this year. Along with me, my batchmates are placed in Reliance, CEAT tyres, Apollo tyres, etc. Mainly tyre companies look for undergraduates from this branch. Various other polymer based companies also approach the campus for the placements like pidilite, oriental conveyor belts, etc. All the renowned tyre companies around the world has alumni belonging to this department. Placement are conducted through the placement cell.
Infrastructure: Department has a good infrastructure and highly sophisticated & equipped labs for undergraduates and research aspirants. Apart from that, the department has a full wi-fi connection, classes equipped with projectors as they become smart classes. Department has various sports events: intra and inter department within the university.
Faculty: The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members who will support you throughout the course. Each faculty has a deep knowledge and understanding of their subject. The college has good faculty, but curbing freedom and ageing labs.
Placements: The students graduated from PS& RT CUSAT has placed in various eminent companies such as Reliance Industries Limited, Oriental Rubber Industries Limited, SRF Limited, Apollo Tyres Limited, CEAT Ltd, etc. The starting salaries via placements have been known to range from Rs 23,000 to Rs 43,000 per month. The students hired as plastic or rubber technologists, design engineers and quality control engineers, students from PS&RT are known to be accepted easily at any reputable polymer industries for jobs as well as internships. The college's 98% of students who have cleared all papers are known to have placed, the rest are known for opting further studies in technological universities in Germany, Netherlands or Japan via various tie-ups of the department or opting the same at IITs or IISc.
Infrastructure: The department of PS&RT is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institution, it is well-equipped to handle material testing and synthesis of polymers. The college has separate labs for PG and UG, the students as well as dedicated labs for nanomaterials, rubber synthesis and material characterisation tests. The classrooms equipped with projectors and screens as well as black and whiteboards with 24/7 4G Wi-Fi infrastructure. However, maintenance of most of the projectors are poor, and they have to replaced with newer versions that support HDMI provision.
Faculty: PS&RT has a decent and experienced faculty, except for a few professors. The students can provide anonymous feedback about the faculty members which are known to thoroughly reviewed. The student-teacher relationship is good, with many of the elite faculty providing an open channel for communication and correspondence. The faculty are to help students achieve projects and exposure in various companies within and outside the state. The course curriculum is one of the most comprehensive curricula seen in any UG or PG programmes concerned with polymer science and engineering. The students undertake the industrial visits and training programmes at various levels of the course, which put the students at the forefront of any interviews or screening tests.
Other: The department of PSRT is active in all university co-curricular activities and social service schemes. The department has an active Eco-club, and Movie Club started at the behest of students. The department also has a badminton court for the staff and students open 24/7. Until recently car parking was provided for students as well as the faculty, however, now it's been restricted to only for the faculty.

The department of polymer science where the expectations meet the reality.
Placements: Our seniors had a great placement last year. The main companies that came for the placements are Appolo, Reliance, SRF, MRF, etc. We don't need many marks for getting placed. The companies are just asking the students to pass in all the subjects. It is a great pleasure and luck to be here in the department of polymer science at CUSAT.
Infrastructure: We have a great department with all the amenities we need. We have completely free Wi-Fi for the students and the faculty members, well-equipped labs, fully furnished classrooms, a library with all the books for our syllabus, the placement cell, etc. We have a canteen with all types of food including Chinese, North Indian and Indian. There are no issues regarding the infrastructure of the college.
Faculty: The faculty members are very helpful and kind with all the students. They are all PhD scholars and ready to help us all the time. They conduct special classes for those who need. They motivate us always. They show us the right way to go. So, I am happy and lucky to have such good faculty members.
Other: If you are expecting a good job with a salary around Rs. 7 lakhs per annum, then the department of polymer science is the best option you got. There is no competition for the jobs because we have a less number of students studying the B Tech polymer science. CUSAT is a great campus to study. You can enjoy your maximum with the studies. And, the other great thing we have here is our CUSAT central library. You can find almost all the books for your needs here. The library works on all the working days as well as the holidays from 9 AM to 9 PM. It is an entirely Wi-Fi enabled library with high-speed internet. It's a great place to study, read and everything. So, I am happy to be here.

Q:   Is 12000 a good rank in CUSAT for BTech?
ShikshaGPT says
A:

Looking at the previous-year General All-India CUSAT CAT ranks for BTech, there is a less chance of getting into the programme with a rank of 12,000. Candidates can get a seat but not in top specialisations like Computer Science Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ship Building, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, etc. Students must secure a rank under 1,000 to get a seat in the preffered BTech specialisation at CUSAT.
