Polymer Technology Admission Process 2025
Interested students may go through a general guide of the admission process for Polymer Technology courses at Indian colleges below:
Step 1: Check the Eligibility and if you qualify it or not
First thing is that you have to do is go to the official site of the college you wanna apply to.
Step 2: Sit for the Entrance Exam
If the course or college asks for it then you have to appear for entrance exams that can be state-level or college-level.
Step 3: Apply for the college Online
Go to the official website of the college and fill out the application form very much carefully.
Step 4: Merit List will be out
After exams are over colleges will release a merit list based on entrance or qualifying marks. Keep checking for your name.
Step 5: Counselling
Take part in counselling sessions which are held by the university to choose your seat.
Step 6: Document Check
Submit all your docs like mark sheets, ID proof, and exam scores for verification.
Step 7: Pay the Fee
Once everything is clear then you have to pay the admission fee to lock your seat and your admission is completed, you just need to attend the classes.

The minimum requirements for a candidate to apply for Polymer Technology course is 50 to 60 percent marks in Class 12. As for bachelor’s degree programs, universities will conduct admission based on merit or entrance test scores. JEE Main, MHT CET, KCET, etc. are some of the well known entrance exams that awards degree of B Tech Polymer Technology.
As for postgraduate courses, the student must have obtained at least an average of 55 to 60 percent in their undergraduate program. Most of the PG level admissions may need GATE score while getting into some institutes.
For getting admission to Polymer Technology courses, you should start by checking the eligibility criteria for the course, which is generally 50 to 60% marks for UG courses and around 55% marks for PG courses. For Diploma in Polymer Technology, you need to get at least 50% marks in Class 10.
Further, you also need to give relevant entrance exams and get excellent marks in the same. It is also very important to fill out the college application forms before the registration window gets closed.
After the exam results are out, you need to apply for the college counselling via the college portal. You need to go to the college for the counselling process where you'll be given the seat according to the marks and rank scored by you in the entrance test.
After seat allotment, you need to go to the college and pay the Polymer Technology course fee after which you can start attending classes.
Some colleges also give admission on Class 12 merit basis and conduct extra rounds like the GD or PI for which you must check the college websites to get a clear picture.

- JEE Mains- This exam is conducted for admissions to BTech programme across IITs, NITs and other State and Central Government funded institutions. It is conducted by NTA and twice a year.
- JEE Advanced- The next level which has to be qualified after JEE Mains is JEE Advanced. Once students clear this exam, candidates are offered seats in the IIT on the basis of their ranks, through Joint Seat Allocation Authority.

- MHT CET - This is a state-level exam for admission to colleges in Maharashtra across various course specializations and levels.
GATE exam is conducted only once a year to offer admissions to master's and PhD programs at top institutions, such as IITs and NITs. Qualifying GATE exam also paves the way for technical jobs in in PSUs. This year, IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 exam. The GATE 2026 exam dates are OUT. The GATE 2026 EXAM DATES are February 7, 8, 14, and 15. The GATE will be held on different dates in two shifts. Candidates are advised to keep checking the website for the GATE 2026 official notification.
JEE Main syllabus is based on class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Maths topics. If you have focused while studying, then it will be easy to prepare for the exam otherwise, you may find it difficult. NCERT textbook is the best for Chemistry and Physics. You can also refer to other books for exam preparation. There are many preparation books suggested by the toppers of Joint Entrance Examination Main.
The syllabus of MHT CET is all covered in NCERT textbooks of class 11 and 12. However, not all topics of class 11 are part of MHT CET exam whereas all class 12 topics are covered in the MHT CET. Candidates must check the official MHT CET syllabus before preparing for the exam.

NCERT books have easy to understand language and a lot of solved questions which make it the best fit to begin MHT CET preparation.
