B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2029
4.2
A new journey begins in college.
Placements: Around 70-80% of the students who are eligible got placed in the best companies with an average package of 10-12 LPA, and the highest package last year was, I think, 85 LPA. Tech jobs are more in demand and have the highest packages, and the core jobs are fewer but have higher competition.
Infrastructure: Facilities are average, and the infrastructure is good. The library is also good, having Wi-Fi, books and a clean environment. Classrooms are good. I didn't allot a hostel because I live in Delhi, but I saw its average, and the condition of the room and mess is decent.
Faculty: Faculty members are good except for some, they forced us to do assignments and having 75% attendance criterion to maintain, but not all. They teach average, although you have to prepare on your own for exams. Curriculum is somehow relevant as the first year is for having the basics clear. The semester exam is not too difficult, not all subjects are difficult except for a few.

A fun and amazing college for those who work hard.
Placements: The total percentage of students who are placed comes out to be roughly 70%. The highest package goes up to 70 LPA, and the average is around 16 LPA. All the top companies come to the college for recruitment since it is a Tier 1 college. Specifically for my branch, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and many more come to the campus. Internships are abundant for tech branches. However, this is not the case for core roles in the same companies that offer placements. Roles like SWE and PCB Designer are offered.
Infrastructure: All facilities required for teaching are present in the college. Basic amenities like Wi-Fi, air-conditioned classrooms, and a big library are present in the college. The 1st-year hostel is not that good, but hostels change every year, so from the 2nd year, the hostels are amazing. In the case of girls, the hostels are top-notch from the 1st year itself. The sports complex has dedicated places for every major sport. There are plenty of shops like Nescafé, Amul, Mother Dairy, juice shops, small cafe points like Raydee and Hims, and there is also Domino's.
Faculty: The curriculum is very old compared to the skills required in the market, but teachers are amazing and very helpful in whatever subjects they teach. The material given is sufficient for skill-building. The semester exams are moderate, with a passing percentage of around 70% in each class.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in Electronics and have been tinkering with Arduino ever since I was a kid. If I improve one thing about my course, it is making the course more catered toward what is required in the industry rather than general knowledge. The number of fests in this college is much more compared to other colleges. The environment is amazing because of good peers, greenery around the campus, and world-class infrastructure.

Faculty is very good and satisfying. Placements, infrastructure, and facilities are good.
Placements: So there are 4 sections in the electronics department and 70 students in each section. According to the current states, almost 70 percent of students got placed with an average package of 15 LPA and 60 LPA, with the highest package. Almost all top MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, etc., come for recruitment, offering roles for tech as well as non-tech in embedded system VLSI design.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is genuinely good, and the ECE department has all kinds of labs like the Samsung lab, electronics workshop, and the instruments are all in working condition. The girls' hostel is too good, but the boys' hostel is kind of average, and the mess is also average, but the canteen is really good, and there are almost all types of sports you can find in the sports complex.
Faculty: Some teachers are really good at his work, but there are also some teachers who you can say is average but almost all of are very humble and polite and if you only study their notes it will be enough the curriculum is relevant to the course. Don't worry about exams too much, you have to score only 23 out of 60 to pass.

DTU's review from a student's perspective.
Placements: Typically, 65-80% of students get placed in B.Tech. The placement cell of DTU is very active in terms of training students for the placement season in advance. The highest domestic package went upto 85 LPA, the median (average) package is approximately 15-18 LPA, top tech branches may even have higher, and core branches have a 7-8 LPA average package. Some of the recruiting companies are Amazon, Google, Uber, Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, etc. Students from the 2nd year start getting placements, which later convert into PPOs, with a stipend ranging up to 2L. Common roles are software developer, data analyst, product engineer, consulting and business roles, and core engineering roles (depth specific).
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the depth is quite decent for core branches. The depth buildings are pretty old, but it doesn't really matter as the labs are well-equipped, and most of them are air-conditioned. But for the top tech branches, the building is recently constructed with all modern amenities. The campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled, and it has a well-equipped library with books ranging from core subjects to international novels. Classrooms are also quite big. Hostels are, however, pretty limited in number when compared to the crowd DTU caters to. Also, for 1st year students, the hostel facility is hellish, but the girls' hostel is really good.
Faculty: Faculty is generally well-qualified and experienced. However, teaching quality depends on professor to professor, some are quite approachable, and others are strictly available for students. The curriculum has core components in theory, which are essential for building a good foundation, but practical skills are not what the industry demands today. Students will have to make extra efforts to secure a good grade in the subject. The semester exams are of a moderate difficulty level and PyQ-based. The passing criteria are 35 marks out of 100, 10% of students mainly fail in a semester.

Good placements, infrastructure, and many opportunities to grab.
Placements: Many good companies visit Delhi Technological University. They are offering an average package of around 15 LPA in the ECE branch for B.Tech and around 28–30 LPA average in VLSI for M.Tech from DTU. Nearly 70 percent of students get placed. Top companies include Nvidia, and Texas Instruments.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good in the library for studying. Labs are well-maintained. Classrooms are clean and suitable for studying. The infrastructure is really good. Students can roam around freely.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and very helpful during exam sessions. The course and curriculum are relevant. It covers the basics, but you also need to learn additional skills to become industry-ready. Semester exams are not very difficult to pass.
Other: There are many opportunities to explore. You can pursue anything you are interested in here.

You are surrounded by some of the brightest minds who cleared JEE main with top ranks.
Placements: DTU formerly Delhi College of Engineering, has a legacy that attracts Day 0 companies like Google, Microsoft, and Goldman Sachs. Students often report that simply having the DTU tag on a resume helps in clearing initial screening grounds. The university has a very strong culture of covering internships in PPOs Pre Placement Offers. Top tech firms often hire their 3rd year interns as full-time employees, with a stipend reaching up to 1.5 Lakhs per month.
Infrastructure: Girls hostels are generally rated much higher. The newer hostels like Virangana Lakshmibai/VLB are often compared to 5 star hotels by students, featuring excellent maintenance, lifts, and modern furniture. Boys hostels are a mixed bag. While newer ones like APJ Abdul Kalam are premium and have AC options, 1st year boys are often placed in holder transmit hostels or repurposed staff quarters like Ramanujan, which are functional but can feel cramped and dated.
Faculty: Compared to IIIT Delhi, DTU is a hill. Attendance rules 75 percent mandatory are strictly mentioned on paper, but the overall environment allows plenty of time for self study and extracurricular activities. 70 percent of students come from outside Delhi, and the crowd is diverse. , Students frequently note a skewed gender ratio of roughly 75 percent male, which is common in many top engineering colleges.

Satisfied with the placement in 2025, good infrastructure and facilities, and decent faculty.
Placements: I'm in my first year, so I don't have much idea about the current placement inside, but from what I have seen, the placement for CSE is nearly 20 LPA with a batch of around 600 students. I think that's very good for ECE, my branch is around 16 - 17 LPA, since I'm more interested in core ECE and because of the location in Delhi, and being reputed (Formerly DCE), major core companies like Nvidia, Intel do visit the college which is a big plus since specially in ECE in core generally jobs are after M.Tech.
Infrastructure: The lecture complex is fine, it has centralised AC, and the desks are not the best, but definitely more than enough. Fine Wi-Fi is available in the library and lecture complex. The speed is fine, just you have to register every time you log in, which is a bit annoying but okay. Labs of the first year are decent, not too much to complain about there. Sports facilities are my personal favourite, especially the cricket and football grounds, which are sublime. There is badminton (indoor and outdoor), lawn tennis, table tennis, kabaddi, volleyball, basketball facilities, and more or less every major sport is available.
Faculty: Teachers depend especially in the first year, when there is no senior faculty teaching, some are assistant professors, or some are post-graduation teachers. It depends, generally, assistant professors are fine, most of them are chill, they provide notes and everything, but only a few teachers explain properly, at least till now. I don't get the point of Chemistry in the first sem of ECE. Semester exams are not very difficult, just do the assignments and previous papers properly, and you can give them easily, but the regulations against cheating are strict, especially at the end of the semester.
Other: I chose ECE over CSE because I think the future in ECE, especially in electronics with semiconductors, is very good, even though I have an interest in coding, but I think ECE is the correct mix of coding with hardware. I feel like if you are not sure between core, coding, software, or hardware, ECE is the branch where you can find your interest. Events and fests of DTU are famous, but for some reason, this year, there are no freshers nor dandiya nights. There was Uphaar (Diwali mela), which was, to be honest, very good, we enjoyed it a lot.

It is a very good college and is really good for those near Delhi.
Placements: I am in first year but I heard from the seniors that this year's placement drive is better than last year's. So, I can not give the exact data as per now. But the top recruiting company sure is Atlassian. The highest package is approximately 85 LPA.
Infrastructure: The rooms are spacious. The hostel I got allotted has two rooms (2+1 students), and hostel itself is decent, with table tennis, badminton court, volleyball court, and a TV room to chill. But the Wi-Fi here is not good, and the phone network works. The mess food is edible not that good, and has good medical facilities with a dedicated health center for hostels.
Faculty: Indeed, teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Everyone is ready to help also. The teaching is good for some professors, mostly they do not care if you are listening or not. Everyone studies by themselves at the end for exams. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready with lectures, and for their implementation, we have labs with decent equipments. As I am first year, I still have not given any exams for now. But I know that the passing percentage is 33 for the watch mid and end semester.
Other: I got this course as per the counseling. The best things about my course are that this course is best for someone who is confused whether to go for tech or non-tech jobs as it is the easiest to switch between them in this course. The things I wish would be better for my course are to have some better lab equipments, as some have become old tech which will help the ones who want to go for research as they will be using the latest tech. Everything is good except the connectivity which comes by going to 3 KM the nearest metro station.
