- The JEE Main 2026 session 2 application window is now closed for the B.E. / B.Tech course. The exam will take place from Apr 2nd to Apr 9th, 2026.
- The counselling rounds for GGSIPU BTech admissions will begin from June 2nd, 2026.
- The IPU CET 2026 registration deadline has been extended till Apr 11, 2026, for various UG-level courses. Also, the exam is going to be conducted from Apr 25, 2026, to May 17, 2026.
GGSIPU BTech Highlights 2026
BTech at GGSIPU is a four-year, UG level engineering course that is offered in full-time mode only. GGSIPU BTech course is offered across many specialisation by its affiliated institutes which includes BTech in CSE, AI Machine Learning, etc.

Yes, GGSIPU offers a four-year full-time BTech course across twenty-one specialisations at the undergraduate level. IPU BTech admission is completely entrance-based. GGSIPU BTech Admission Dates 2026
GGSIPU BTech admission dates usually begin in the month of February every year. The schedule of the IPU CET, JEE Mains and CUET is looked when scheduling GGSIPU BTech deadline. Thus, candidates must keep track of the dates of one of the aforementioned entrance exams to not miss applying for BTech at GGSIPU.
JEE Mains dates for the first session are scheduled between the months of Novermber and December. CUET-UG dates are scheduled between the months of January and July every year. No, GGSIPU doesn't offer direct admission. IP University does not allow any of the affiliated colleges/institutes/agencies to grant direct admission to any of the courses of the university.
To check the GGSIPU round 1 result, students can reach the official site & apply for the available UG/PG programmes. Below mentioned are the steps to check the IP University result:
1: Reach the IP University Delhi site.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's annual hostel cost is INR 29,500. Mess and welfare fees are not included in the hostel fees. The fee for the mess is INR 36,000, while the cost of the welfare is INR 3,000. Candidates need to submit three demand drafts: one for hostel fees, one for mess charges, and one for welfare charges. Two hostels are maintained on campus for male students, and two are maintained for female students. There are more than 180 single-seat rooms in each hostel. Basic furnishings such as a cot, mattress, pillow, chair, table, cupboard, tube lamp, and fan are provided in each room. Mess facilities are available for residents in each hostel. Residents also have access to a common area, a gym, a reading room, and sports facilities. For the hostels, there is a provision for 24-hour water and electrical services.
Indraprastha University BTech admission is done on the basis of a valid score of JEE Main. In the case of GGSIPU admission to B Tech in Biotechnology, a candidate must take up IPU CET or CUET. The flagship programme of the university is the BTech course that is distributed over the course of four years and has eight semesters. The IPU BTech course selection is done by a centralised counselling of the course. Admission to other UG programs as BSc, BCA, BCom (Hons), B.Ed, BA (JMC), BHMCT, BBA, BA (Hons) and BVoc among others is also done on the basis of a valid IPU CET score, which is administered by the University.
GGSIPU BTech Admission 2026: How to Apply?
GGSIPU BTech application process can only be completed in online mode. Candidates who apply for the GGSIPU BTech course admissions need to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for their chosen BTech course. GGSIPU admission to the BTech courses accept different entrance exam based on the specific BTech course chosen by a candidate.
For a reference on the GGSIPU BTech admission process, candidates are advised to look at the steps mentioned below:
STEP 1: GGSIPU BTech Application Process
The first step of the GGSIPU BTech application process is to register for the entrance exam. To register for the JEE Mains, candidates need to go to its official NTA portal and register on the portal. The same process is followed for CUET-UG registrations on its own NTA portal.
After the candidates have registered for the aforementioned entrance exams or if they are applying through IPU CET, candidates have to follow the steps below:
- Go to the official website of GGSIPU (www.ipu.ac.in).
- Click on the 'Admission' tab
- Click on 'Online Admission Form'
- Select BTech from the drop-down menu
- Upload the documents
- Pay the application fee
The GGSIPU BTech application fee is INR 2,500 for all the courses.
STEP 2: Candidate Selection
After the candidates have successfully submitted their BTech admission forms, GGSIPU will begin the application screening process. For BTech admissions except the BTech in Biotechnology course, candidates will be selected based on JEE Mains scores. However, if any seats remain unalloted after the admission are over, those seats will be filled thorugh the CUET-UG exam.
Candidates applying for the BTech in Biotechnology course are shortlisted based on the scores obtained in either IPU CET or CUET-UG exam.
STEP 3: Counselling and Admission Confirmation
The final step of the BTech admission process at GGSIPU is completed during the counselling rounds. GGSIPU will call the candidates who are shortlisted for admissions to allow them to lock their preferences regarding college and BTech course. The allotment of seats to these candidates will be based on availability of seats, candidate's rank and other factors.
Once the candidate's have been alloted a seat in their preferred BTech course and affiliated institute, they must go to the campus of their chosen institute for the document verification process. After the documents have been verified, candidates will need to pay the GGSIPU BTech admission fees.
The admission fees might be small of portion of the first instalment of tuition fees which is INR 1.69 lakh.

The university require students to submit certain documents. These documents are required for verification purposes. Candidates need to upload the scanned copies of the below-mentioned documents while filling IPU application form 2024 in online mode:

STEP 1: Counselling Registeration
Candidates have to register (could be online/offline) for counselling. Details such as the aspirant name, programme code and other details have to be provided during registration. The registration fee is INR 1,500.
STEP 2: Login & Enrol
Login with the ID and password generated during registration to fill out the application. The IPU counselling processing fee is INR 1,000, which has to be paid during the enrolment for participation in the counselling procedure after registration. Fill in the details as asked and take a printout of the form and fee receipt. Document verification is carried out in online mode based on information provided by the candidate during enrolment.
STEP 3: Choice Filling/Preference Sheet
The preference sheet is available on the GGSIPU brochure. For online mode, candidates will have to visit the university's official website. It must be noted that the preference sheet is valid for only one counselling round. Hence, for each round, a new preference sheet must be filled out for each counselling round.
STEP 4: Seat Allocation
After choice filling, seats are allotted to the candidates based on merit, respective category and region. Candidates can be asked to freeze the seat by paying a sum of fee.
Most of the GGSIPU course admissions are based on entrance test scores. GGSIPU usually don't provide any scope of direct admission to the students. Students must clear the entrance examinations to get admission to the available programmes.
GGSIPU HSTES Cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering and B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The cutoff for both the courses in the last round was 537200 and 982047, respectively for the students belonging to the General AI category. Please note, the cutoffs for each category and round will vary accordingly.

For the IPU BTech course, the selection is based on JEE Main/CUET/IPU CET. In Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, better known as IPU or GGSIPU, there’s a 75 per cent reservation for Delhi students. Delhi students are those students who have completed their Class 12 from a school which is in Delhi. The remaining 25 per cent seats are for students from all over India. So, Delhi general refers to those students who passed their school from Delhi but are in the General category while All India general refers to the students who have passed their school from anywhere but Delhi and are from the General category.

GGSIPU has given weightage to both theory and practical UG and PG courses. Students need to secure a minimum of 75% in semester theory exam for UG courses and 60% for PG programmes. For practical, students need to secure a minimum of 60%. A student must pass both theory and practical examination to pass the semester. Students who fail the internal exam are required to re-appear in the previous semester examination to obtain sufficient credits to be promoted to the next academic year.

In 2022, cut off was 15339 for the General category candidates in All India quota for BTech + M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. Yes, GGSIPU accepts CUET scores. For UG courses, CUET-UG and similarly for the PG courses, CUET-PG is applicable. However, it must be noted that preference is given to CUET scores after the respective national-level exams and the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the university. Some of the UG and PG programmes for which this entrance score is accepted are MCA, MA, BSc, BBA and allied programmes, BPharm, BCom (Hons), etc.

To get IPU (main campus- USLLS and VIPS) you need to have a total score of atleast 470 out of 650. And admission in IPU through cuet happens only after the CLAT rounds are over, so you must wait till the spot rounds.
