HBTU is recognized for its popularity and culture and has a legacy of completing 100 years.
Placements: The course is up to the mark and divided into segments to learn easily. 50% of students are always placed. The lowest package is 3 LPA-4 LPA and the median is 7 LPA-8 LPA. Students get their internships in the 6th semester by college and get a pre-placement offer at the beginning of their final year.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available 24/7 on college premises as well as in hostels. Library is also available on campus from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. We also have seminar room and a smart board class for visual learning.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly educated and friendly, if you are a dedicated student in your study they will help in every step. Course curriculum is relevant if someone wants to create a career in this field. If you do the full course then you will gain knowledge to sit for placements and go for higher education. Semester exams are easy even one day is sufficient for you to study the entire coursework for one subject.

It is a good government college.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placements, and 100% of students get internships in biochemical engineering. Students of our course work in the IT sector or biochemical sector and other departments of biochemical engineering too.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for our department are good. There are 2 labs for UG and PG. It has an air-conditioned biochemical seminar hall. The quality of the food served in the mess is not good but the canteen food is good. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus and in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching varies depending on the teachers. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry ready. Semester exams are not difficult.
Other: Students of our college get good scholarships.

It has good placements and good infrastructure. It will become much better in the upcoming years.
Placements: Campus placements are very good. In CS, you get an average salary package of 10 LPA. The highest salary package offered here is 40 LPA by Microsoft. In 2021, food technology has got the highest salary package of 22 LPA by Paytm. Our branch is biochemical, where you can get placement of 6 LPA, and 3 people got a placement of 4.5 LPA. We hope placements will increase in the upcoming years.
Infrastructure: There are 2 campuses. They are huge and beautiful. The college has good infrastructure. You will get a great feeling. You will enjoy time with your friends, and the facilities are good enough. The library has air conditioning and computers where you can sit with your branch mates and enjoy.
Faculty: Teachers are very experienced and take care of all students. Exams are very good and the level of questions is hard. It is hard to score a good CGPA and upgrade the branch. If you score a 9 CGPA, you can upgrade your branch to CS or IT. There is a 50-mark exam at the end of the semester and 20 marks are internally assigned, which are based on the homework and assignment. The mid-semester consists of 30 marks.
Other: Biochemical engineering is one of the good branches, and here you can learn a lot about the subject. You will get all the possible facilities to make yourself grow, and scholarships are also provided to the needy students. A college fest is also conducted where you can have fun with your friends.

It is gradually losing its glory.
Placements: The placement percentage in our branch is not good. Out of 30 students, only 2 got placed in Adani with a package of 4.8 LPA. In the third year, there was a severe COVID wave ongoing, so only 3 people got offline internships in Oxybee, and the rest had done online internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure-wise, our branch has the least facilities compared to other branches. In our department, there is no Wi-Fi. Labs lack the equipment and chemicals needed for practicals. The facilities in the hostel are adequate when compared to other state government-funded hostels. Mess meals are fine. In the case of sports, you have to bring your own sports kit.
Faculty: Faculty members are not good. That's why the placement percentage is not good in this branch. Faculty members have mediocre knowledge, and their teaching quality is also not good, except for some teachers. The course curriculum is fine. If you have studied well for four years of college, then you can crack any interview at your course-related company. Semester exams are not too difficult to pass. The passing percentage is about 98%.
Other: I chose this course over other technology branches because I didn't know that placements are bad and that faculty members just make this course worse. This course needs good faculty members and good labs. We have two fests in a year. The campus surroundings are good because the college campus is situated in an elite region of Kanpur city. Scholarships are distributed by the UP government on a merit basis. This college lacks extracurricular activities to a great extent.

Except for some professors, teachers quality is poor.
Placements: The strength of our senior batch is 22 students, and among which, only one student got placed until now. From super senior batch, around 5 or 6 students got placements. This year, one student got placed with a salary package of 12 LPA. In the previous year scenario, the average salary package offered was 4-5 LPA. Adani Wilmar is a dream company here. Every student is sent to the local municipal water treatment plant every year, but they can't learn anything there.
Infrastructure: Our college doesn't have Wi-Fi enabled labs, and even equipment in the lab of UG is not working. Classrooms are deteriorating, and the library is average. However, the hostel rooms are fine, but the hostel toilet is messy. The food served in the mess is average, and there is no canteen in the West campus area, where all hostels apart from 1st-year boys and all girls are available. Our college has below average medical facilities, and students are referred to some other hostels. Sports depend on students as our college doesn't provide support. Our college organises 2 days athlete meet every year.
Faculty: Apart from some senior professors, faculty members quality is poor. They teach only with the help of papers and reciting it. Otherwise, notes are provided. The teaching quality is really poor. The course curriculum is relevant, but they never teach students. Notes are provided for exams, and there are no lab practicals. So students can't be industry-ready by this curriculum.
Other: The only reason to chose this course was because of this college reputation. The best thing about the course is its vastness covering both engineering and medical part. I wish that our college should provide better laboratory, its equipment, faculty members, etc. These things can be very better in the present scenario. Events and fest are quite below average as low sponsorship and low budget allotment from college just due to poor mentality who have power. There is no Wi-Fi facility until now, and animals roam throughout the college. Scholarships are provided by the government, and extracurricular activities are dependent on students as college doesn't provide support. Everything is going on anyways.

Loosing its glare with time.
Placements: Majority of students get placed. Some students from branches like leather Technology and Oil Technology find it hard to find a job. Placement is 100 % in branches like paint Technology and chemical engineering. Off campus record is very good, a student can get more than expected package with little effort.
Infrastructure: The college campus is located at two places in Kanpur itself with 74 and 270 acre area respectively. The 74 acre campus includes infrastructure for education and hostels for 1 St year. The second 270 acre campus has hostels for rest of the students along with quarters for faculty members.
Faculty: Majority of the faculty have huge experience in teaching, but there is a shortage of teachers in the campus, which the university tries to fulfil through guest faculty members on contracts. These guest faculty members are also good and the load of completing the syllabus ultimately on them.
Other: Every branch organises their own fest. But odyssey is a fest that is organised by all the branches together.

The placements and infrastructure of the college are bad.
Placements: The placement record is very poor. This year only 2 students from my branch get placed, with a package of 3.24 LPA. The placement cell is a bit inactive. You have to do everything thing by yourself. The academic department is bad as they don't know how to change a branch, I mean they invented a brand new method, and maybe some corruption is also involved.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure is less than average. A few weeks ago, our chief minister inaugurated the gymnasium and Wi-Fi, but gymnasium is not operational, and daily Wi-Fi data limit is just 20 MB. The campus roads are in a very bad situation, and also east campus is also open for everyone including residents of Nawabganj market.
Faculty: The course curriculum is average. It is up to you, how you motivate yourself because I feel some academic staff treat non-core branches bad. I mean, their reaction when they recognised that you are from a non-core branch, they treat like you don't clear any entrance exam to reach HBTU. They think that we are here due to use of some quota.
Other: Last year, when HBTU was HBTI, then lots of cultural programs and technical events were organised. Since it is not a university, so no such events are organised yet.

Average placements and satisfactory infrastructure.
Placements: When I say about placements here, then it depends on the branch in which we are studying. Paint technology has almost 100% placements as the companies pick like Asian Paints, Nerolac, etc with a minimum of 3,00,000 and a maximum of 12,00,000. Core branches like electronics and electrical have average placements at about 50%.
Infrastructure: Facilities are not very classy here as it has an average government-like infrastructure. No Wi-Fi available but it is in process. Our labs lack in many instruments. Each year, a sports meeting is held here. Volleyball and cricket are the favourite games here. Classrooms are okay to have good studies in. The canteen provides good and fast food, not only regular meals. Hostels are very old so they have many infrastructure issues. Rooms are okay to live but bathrooms are very dirty.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-experienced here but the way of teaching is boring and no interest will be developed. But in terms of personal knowledge, they are very good and helpful as a professor or teacher. Every year, 3rd-year students get the industry exposure and the internship from here. Non-core branches have best faculty members as here chemical technology is a famous branch.
Other: As per my recommendation, anyone who takes admission here should have the patience to keep calm because what you think about BTech life here is something different. The study plan is very different. The exam paper level is really difficult compared to all other colleges.
