HNBGU Uttarakhand BTech admission criteria is entrance-based. The university prepares a merit list based on applicants' CUET scores. If the seats are left vacant, then merit list students of HNBGU counselling are selected based on JEE Main score. Further, apart from these criteria, aspirants must have the required educational qualifications as well. Aspirants who are Class 12 or equivalent pass in the Science stream with at least 45% aggregate (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) can apply.

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University BTech fees include components like tuition fees, registration fees, university enrolment fees, etc. Some of the fee components are only one-time chargeable. The course fee varies for the courses offered on campus and by the university-affiliated colleges. The total tuition fee for HNBGU BTech ranges between INR 67,000 and INR 88,000. HNBGU merit list 2023 for BTech course was released on Aug 14. Selected candidates had to deposit the fee by Aug 16 (5 PM). Further. Yes, now Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University will not be conducting an entrance exam separately. HNBGU admission to most of the undergraduate, postgraduate and integrated courses is now based on candidates' performance in the CUET entrance exam, conducted by NTA. Candidates with a valid CUET score are then required to go through an online counselling round conducted by HNBGU. 

The Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University is approved by the UGC and given a "A" grade by NAAC. HNBGU provides more than 700 undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and doctorate courses in 16 streams, 11 schools, 47 departments, and 2 centres (Agriculture and Allied Sciences, Commerce, Earth Science, Arts, Communication and Languages, and Law).

The median package provided during the HNBGU UG 4-year and PG 2-year placements in 2022 was INR 2.90 LPA and INR 5.20 LPA, respectively, according to the HNBGU overall NIRF report for 2023. The NTA has released the exam dates for the JEE Main 2025 Session 2. Paper 1 (BE/BTech) will be administered on April 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8, 2025. Paper 1 will be administered only in the second shift on April 8. The Session 2 registration is closed, and the last date to apply was February 25, 2025. The applicants are requested to download their city intimation slip, to be released in the third week of March, and admit cards, to be available three days prior to the exam date, from the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
