B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2028

HNBGU life and your future.
Placements: My batch is 2024 electronics batch. The percentage of students placed in our course is less than 10%. Cipla is the top recruiting company in our course. None of the students get internships from here. Barely any companies come to our college for internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities of our course or department are average. There is a Wi-Fi system that barely even works. Hostel is very limited and the food quality is below average. There is a room in which three students live and has two fans only.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is not so much relevant and the students are not industry-ready yet. Semester exams are very difficult and we don't even get our 1 semester result yet at the end of 2 semester.
Other: I chose this course because it is future optimistic. The best thing about our course is that we can do extra work in the practical field. I wish that we could focus on practicals more than the books. There is only one fest which is Annanta fest which is held only every year.

The best college for B.Tech at low fees and in the presence of mountains.
Placements: There are minimum placements in our college. Even the placement cell is just formed. The highest salary package offered by a company is 8 LPA. The minimum salary package offered is 1.5 LPA. Top recruiters are Cipla and some other small firms. There are no internships in our college.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for our course are quite good. There are Wi-Fi and lab facilities for students. There is a central library in which students study. The quality of hostel facilities is good compared to the fees. The food in the mess is average. There are 24/7 medical facilities for hostel students.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and qualified. They have done Ph.D.s in their respective subjects. The teaching quality is quite good. The course is not relevant. Our course mainly focuses on theory rather than practical knowledge and students are not industry-ready. Semester exams are not difficult in our college. The passing percentage is 80%.
Other: The highest salary package is offered in the B.Tech department in electronics and communication engineering. I chose this course because of my interest in VLSI. I wish that our course would be more practical than theoretical. There are not many events but one of the biggest events in HNBGU is Ananta. It is organized by the B.Tech department. There are no scholarships in our college. Only a few extracurricular activities are held.

For all middle students, HNBGU is the best choice for low fees.
Placements: At least 45% of students got placed. The average package is 4-6 LPA. Placement is one of the key concerns for ECE students at HNBGU. While some companies visit for recruitment, especially for software roles, the number and diversity of companies hiring for core ECE jobs (electronics, telecommunications, hardware design, etc.) are limited. Many students may need to pursue off-campus placements or internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library are all available for free. The quality of the facilities in the hostel, the quality of food available in the mess and canteen, medical facilities, sports, and games are all available at low fees.
Faculty: Every master is nice in his own subject and very helpful with intelligence. While HNBGU offers some extracurricular opportunities, students have reported that technical fests, hackathons, and national-level competitions related to ECE are limited. Participation in such events can help students gain practical skills and experience. The difficulty level of the semester exams in this college is average.
Other: HNBGU's B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering offers a solid foundation in theoretical concepts at an affordable price. However, the limited placements, outdated infrastructure, and lack of industry exposure can be challenging. To make the most of the program, students need to supplement their education with online courses, internships, and independent projects. For those aiming for higher studies or government jobs, HNBGU's environment can be conducive, but for core electronics jobs in the private sector, additional efforts are necessary to build the right skill set.

There is very less placement in core branch of B.Tech.
Placements: There is no active placement cell in the campus for professional courses. Only a few teaching companies visit, and no non-teaching companies come to the university. Most students go off campus to look for jobs. Last year, some placements were made for MCA, CSE, and IT graduates.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at the university is very good, especially when compared to other central universities. The hostels are also good, but there is a shortage of boys' hostels because two new ones are under construction.
Faculty: The faculty are mostly from IIT. There are no mid-semester exams, only final exams, and internal marking is very low. Exams are held in all campuses, so we have to travel from one campus to another for the exam. Labs are functioning in ECE and IE branches, but there is a shortage of faculty in ME.

Review of Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University [HNBGU].
Placements: Placements are not that good. If you focus on your skills, you'll get a good placement. The placement cell is improving day by day. The highest salary package from ECE is 12 LPA by Lenskart. The average salary package is 3 LPA. Most students are preparing for the GATE exam, which is also a reason for low placements.
Infrastructure: The hostel has very few seats for B.Tech students. The infrastructure of the classrooms and the library is very good. There is also a gym for both boys and girls.
Faculty: It has supportive faculty members. A few of them are not good. If you have any doubts in class or about anything else related to your studies, you can seek assistance from any departmental faculty member. Classes in the ECE department are regularly scheduled, and 60% attendance is required to write semester exams.
Other: I am pursuing a B.Tech. in ECE. Our batch is not crowded. If you are interested in participating in any other extracurricular activities, you can do so through the various programs.

Our college provides good faculty members and infrastructure.
Placements: Most of the students of our branch get placed in the IT sector. Placements provided in our college are not good. Most of the students get placed off campus. Most of our seniors got placed in companies like TCS, Wipro, etc. Many companies don't visit our campus, so students get jobs off-campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is excellent but the classrooms are not cleaned every day. Our campus is enabled with Wi-Fi at a good speed. Library and lab facilities are available. Our college has a field to play games in. The food served in the mess is average. Our college has 4 to 5 hostels for boys and 2 to 3 hostels for girls.
Faculty: All the faculty members in our college are UGC qualified. Some of them are guest faculty members. They are well qualified to teach in their respective field. They clear all the doubts of the students. The course curriculum is old and not up to date.

Everything is okay except for placements.
Placements: The placements are definitely poor. No single company visits the college. But there is hope as many students get off-campus placements. Few training companies visits but even they are of low quality and have no standards in training. Neither are there any certifications that add value to our CVs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. 24/7 Wi-Fi, libraries in the hostel and campus are available. Food is okay, but there is a chance of improvement. There is a gym on campus with proper facilities. All the equipment is available. The ground is good, mainly for football and volleyball.
Faculty: Some teachers are good while others are not. Only self-study helps us pass the exams. Most importantly, the course curriculum is very outdated and needs to get attention from the university as it has not even basic courses and neither major and minor degree facilities are available.

Our college provides the best scenic view with a good education at a low price.
Placements: Many companies visit the campus for recruitment. In our university almost we have off-campus placements and the majority of the students get placed from a professional degree. About 95% of the students who were willing to be placed got placed. The average salary package offered was 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our university is well planned and the hostel provides good facilities and a well-equipped networking lab with high-speed data and access to many other facilities. The university provides facilities and education at a nominal and very low cost as it is a central university.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are highly educated with great and varied experience. Most of the faculty members are permanent and some of the teachers are guest faculty members. But on a whole, faculty members in our college are highly qualified as they are appointed by the central government.
Other: Our college goes with a string of events throughout the year with an annual fest of college and different fest of various departments. A seminar or meeting is held almost every week.
