Average review of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi by a fresher.
Placements: In the electrical department, most students get placed in either software developer roles or core jobs such as chip design and VLSI. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, and Adobe. Many core companies also recruit for SDE roles.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of the lecture hall complex are very good. We have 24/7 Wi-Fi everywhere on campus, with LAN ports and charging ports available in classrooms. The library is big and has all the required facilities. Hostel infrastructure is also nice, with a weekly mess menu.
Faculty: Teachers are good. They are very knowledgeable and highly qualified. The curriculum is quite relevant. It also makes students industry-ready. Exams are difficult with the relative grading system. Almost all students pass the exam, so about 95% pass.

Great college for startups and out of campus life.
Placements: 96% placed, the highest package is 400 LPA, and the average is 20 LPA. Core electric companies and tech companies give placements. Amazon and Microsoft are top recruiting companies. 80% students get internships, and others get projects from professors. The top roles in my course is to design motherboards.
Infrastructure: There are large classrooms in which there are AC and heaters, good quality chairs but less breadth of benches. In the whole campus, you don't need mobile data because Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The hostels have small rooms, but they are pretty clean, and in the mess, there are frequent special dinners and lunches. There is a hospital for all IIT students. There are playgrounds for almost every sport.
Faculty: The teachers are very friendly, but they taught only in English. They are very intelligent and have done a lot of research in their field. The course is about electrical circuits. I believe that it will make students industry-ready because the course theory is followed by experiments. The exams are moderate, and we can easily score good by studying an average of 4 hours a day. Passing percentage is 30%.
Other: I was into electric circuits since I was a kid, so I opt this course. The course involves many experiments, so it is good for practical learning. In the labs, they should have more machines of good quality. The events are very frequent, and there are many big fests, and campus is normally crowd and is clean, and there is no much traffic.

A peek into my college life.
Placements: Mostly around 50% to 60 % of students got placed on campus placements. The highest salary package offered is around 1.5 crore and the average salary package offered is 22.5 Lacs. The top recruiting companies that offer the highest salary package are the quant and consulting companies like DaVinci, Graviton, Berkshire Hathaway, etc. Students above 7.5 CGPA mostly got internships which are around 50% to 60%. Roles offered are different according to companies like analyst, data analysis, finance, product managing, etc.
Infrastructure: Campus is spread over a large area with many modern technologies available like free high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the campus, air-conditioners, and large classrooms. College has one of the biggest libraries in the city and labs with some of the best and rare equipment. And many more. Hostel being 40 to 50 years old are a little poor in infrastructure and strength and are generally renovated every 10 years. Mess and canteen food is decent or eatable but not much good. College feels includes health insurance and there are free medical facilities which are available in the college hospital.
Faculty: Teachers or professors are well-qualified but some of them though have a great amount of knowledge and don't have the proper teaching skills. Course has some courses that make students industry-ready but only the college is not fully responsible for that. Course sometimes feels like it is irrelevant. Course policy is what makes the course easy or hard to some extent. Generally, 95% of students pass the courses.
Other: I actually wanted a better college, as my rank was not enough to get a seat in better colleges, so I took admission in this college. I wish the course was focused equally on personality development as it only focuses on studies. Our college conducts various fests throughout the year, like Rendezvous, Kaizen, Tryst, Literati, etc. which are generally organized by senior students. College also has various cultural clubs for students with different interests to excel in them.

The amazing exploration of IIT Delhi - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Up to 120 students are placed in my course, and a total of 1200 students are there in the first year. The companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and TCS are there in my course. Top roles are like management consulting, marketing management, business analyst, etc. The highest package is around 1 crore per annum, while the average is 36.9 lacs per annum. Mostly 94% of students got internships from above companies.
Infrastructure: On my campus, there is a Wi-Fi network used by staff and students of the campus. It has well-designed classrooms equipped with modern teaching aids, including projectors, smart boards, etc. For a large classroom, there are auditorium-style lecture halls with interactive learning The central library here is well stocked with textbooks, research journals, e-books, etc. The food quality of our mess food is also there; there is a great kind of diversity also there for sports purposes. There is a sports complex named Mitthal, and for medical purposes, there is a 24/7 medical facility.
Faculty: Yes, the professors are really helpful, and they are highly qualified, and most of them are also from IIT. They really teach so well and want to teach in a very practical manner so the course can be easily understandable. Yes, like most of the courses have lecture classes, and the theory classes have practical labs too so that we can apply the theoretical knowledge. Like depends on some courses being really easy while some courses are quite difficult to grasp, but the practice makes us perfect; the pass percentage really depends on the course coordinator and the policy mentioned by the professor in the lectures.
Other: I choose the course case. I have an interest in electronics. The best thing about my course is that it is not remembering the things; it all has some logic behind it. I think all things are good. There are a lot of scholarships provided by institutes and the alums of IITD also. The annual fest of IITD, that is Rondevous, is quite the largest in North India; the connectivity is very large. There are a lot of people coming together representing the diverse India.

My first semester experience at IIT Delhi as an average student.
Placements: In my opinion, IIT Delhi provides one of the best placements in India, and my branch has had a history of outstanding placements. Last year, my branch, Electrical Engineering, had an average package of 29.6 LPA and a median package of 24.5 LPA. The percentage of students placed was around 89%. It is pretty safe to say that if you are from the Electrical branch in IIT Delhi, you have an upper edge in the placement season.
Infrastructure: As the college is old, there are many old hostels that have a kind of old infrastructure. If you are lucky, you may be given the new hostels, which have completely new infrastructure and can accommodate a huge number of students. Whereas, if you are unlucky like me, you may get an old hostel, where you will have to settle with two other roommates. Although the infrastructure in the old and new hostels is visibly different, the facilities provided are mostly the same among all hostels. You are provided with extremely fast Wi-Fi everywhere. The food quality is also decent; they provide a variety of foods (continuing both north and south Indian foods). Also, almost every hostel has its own night messes and juice shops, which provide you with many extra food options. There are also gyms, reading rooms, common rooms, visiting rooms, and a TV room in the hostels. There are also badminton and volleyball courts inside some hostels. The lecture hall has magnificent infrastructure and is huge in size. All the classrooms are air-conditioned. There are huge classrooms with a capacity of more than 300 students, and also smaller ones, each for their own purpose. There are well-equipped labs for each department inside the LHC itself. There is also a new LHC (West Academic Block) that will be soon operational.
Faculty: The teaching faculty here are some of the best in the world. Each and every faculty member is a graduate of some prestigious international institution or another IIT. The professors are, no doubt, experts in their own field, but not every professor teaches the same way. Some professors teach with utmost interest and enthusiasm, while others just slide through some 2-year-old PPTs. You will also find most of the faculty members are very humble, and they do respond to students' doubts and questions. To be very honest, I personally find the first-year curriculum (which is the same for every B.Tech undergraduate, regardless of branch) not too relevant for everyone. In the first semester, I had to study a lot of mechanical and chemistry courses, which will hardly be of much use for my branch. In the second semester, I will study physics, electrical, and computer science courses, which again will not be of much use for most of the non-circuit branches. But the curriculum allows you to venture out into new areas, not only within your branch; you can explore many courses from any branch. And if you are passionate enough, you can also choose to minor in some other disciplines. The exams in IIT Delhi are a different monster. I personally remember sitting for the written test of a mechanical workshop course, and I couldn't believe the marking system. It was 30 marks, all multiple-choice questions with +1 mark for right answers and -0.5 for each wrong answer. The exams are very unpredictable and can often be very challenging, even for the best minds in the country, but the overall evaluation system is relatively consistent in most courses. The competition here is also cutthroat. If you thought getting into IITs is tough, surviving here is even tougher.
Other: The campus life at IIT Delhi is really amazing. The cultural fest is one of the biggest in North India. The sports facilities are great. There are fields for each field sport, courts for racket sports, volleyball, etc. There is also Mittal Sports Complex and the Student Activity Centre (SAC), which contains playing areas for many sports. The inter-hostel sports competition (GC) is one of the legacies of IIT Delhi. Every hostel participates and competes to win the GC trophy, as it lifts the hostel's respect on campus. The campus overall has an amazing vibe. There is always some sort of sport or cultural competition going on. You will definitely not feel bored here.
