KGMU BSc Nursing 2025 exam has been scrapped by King George's Medical University. Candidates will have to appear for the UP CNET 2025 exam to be eligible for admission to King George's Medical University. The UP CNET 2025 exam is conducted for admission to BSc nursing colleges located in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates seeking admission through the UP CNET 2025 exam were eligible to apply for the exam from March 25, 2025

About KGMU Nursing 2025

The KGMU Nursing exam has been scrapped. It was a state-level entrance exam that has been replaced with the UP CNET exam. The CNET exam facilitates admission into a four-year BSc nursing course for candidates domiciled in Uttar Pradesh. The BSc nursing entrance exam will be conducted for admission to King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow and other participating institutes.  The selection will be made strictly based on their performance in the written examination, followed by the counselling process. KGMU offers 380 seats in the BSc Nursing programme across seven colleges in Lucknow and the admission is done on the basis of merit in the entrance exam conducted by the KGMU. Aspirants seeking admission must ensure himself/herself about his/her eligibility before filling of the application form. The selection of candidate will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board appointed by the University.

KGMU BSc Nursing entrance exam has been scrapped for admission to nursing programme. For admission to KGMU Lucknow, candidates will have to appear for UP CNET entrance exam. It is on offline exam which is held for a duration of 120 minutes.

KGMU nursing entrance test does not exist. It was earlier conducted for admission to nursing course offered by the Kings George Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. In the present scenario, candidates must appear for the CNET entrance exam to be eligible for admission. Who is Eligible for KGMU Nursing 2025?

KGMU Nursing eligibility criteria stand cancelled as the exam has been scrapped. Kindly refer to the UP CNET eligibility criteria to know the conditions to be eligible for filling out the application form. 

The candidates seeking admission to KGMU are required to comply with the prescribed eligibility criteria as mentioned by the institute for seeking admission to the BSc Nursing programme. 

  • Candidate must have appeared for the UP CNET exam
  • Candidate must have passed class 12, securing at least 45 percent marks (40 percent for SC/ST category candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English (PCBE) subjects from any recognized board.
  • Applicants from State Open School recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by the central government with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE) are eligible to apply.
  • The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 Years as mentioned in the information brochure/admission prospectus

Q:   I have qualified for the NEET-UG, do I have to appear separately for KGMU nursing 2025?
A: 

For admission to KGMU, it is mandatory to appear for CNET exam. NEET UG score is not applicable for admission to BSc nursing programme offered by KGMU, Lucknow. The KGMU entrance exam has been scrapped and only those candidates who clear the CNET 2025 cutoff will be eligible for admission to the prestigious nursing institute. 

Q:   Who all are eligible to apply for KGMU Nursing for BSc Nursing Course?
A: 

Candidates who have cleared class 12 exams or equivalent exams from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects and have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate. Minimum age for admission is 17 years on or before 31st December 2025. The maximum age limit for admission is 35 years for Unreserved (UR), OBC, EWS, SC and ST, however the maximum Age for candidates with Physical Disability (PH) will be 40 years.

Q:   Can I take admission to any other university or institution through KGMU nursing 2025?
A: 

No, one cannot take admission to any other university or institution by clearing the KGMU nursing exam as no other institute or university accepts KGMU nursing 2025 scores. Only the institutes authorized/affiliated by the KGMU Lucknow are eligible to accept the KGMU BSc Nursing entrance scores.

KGMU BSc Nursing Admission Process 2025

The KGMU BSc nursing admission process involves the whole procedure to secure a seat via any of the entrance examinations. The process consists of filling out application forms to attend the counselling and submitting the admission fee. Below are the quick steps of the admission process:

  1. Fill out the UP CNET Registration/Application form: Provide their details, and academic details, upload their recent passport-size photograph and the scanned image of their signature, and submit the application fee to conclude the process.
  2. Download the UP CNET Admit Card: The conducting body will release the admit card at least ten or seven days before the entrance exam, and candidates have to download and take a printout of the admit card.
  3. Appear for the UP CNET nursing exam: The candidates must appear for the entrance exam by reporting to the allotted centre at the prescribed time and date. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall without producing a hard copy of the admit card.
  4. Attend the UP CNET counselling: Candidates have to participate in the counselling process. As per the choice of selected college, candidates will be allotted seats. At this stage, candidates can apply for the KGMU BSc nursing course at the time of choice filling and option locking.

KGMU Nursing Application Form 2025

KGMU will not release any application form as the entrance exam stands cancelled. Candidates will have to fill out the UP CNET 2025 application form to be eligible for admission in KGMU. 

UP CNET has begun the application process for KGMU Nursing for the academic year 2025-26. UP CNET nursing application forms were available from March 25, 2025. Please note that KGMU will not accept any application form. Below are the steps candidates should follow to fill out the UP CNET nursing application form:

  • Visit the official website of UP CNET, abvmucet25.co.in
  • Register by creating their login ID along with the password, and keep it safe for future reference
  • Provide all the mandatory details and review them before submitting them. Wrongly filled and incomplete application forms are subjected to rejection. 
  • After providing all the necessary details, candidates are advised to pay the application fee online.
  • Once all the steps are complete, take a printout of the UP CNET application form

The KGMU, Lucknow, will not release KGMU Nursing exam pattern. Instead, candidates will have to appear for the UP CNET exam which is also offline test (pen and paper based test). The mode of the KGMU BSc Nursing entrance exam is offline (pen and paper based) and the duration of the exam is three hours (180 minutes). All the questions will be MCQ based (objective-type). As per the past trend, the exam is conducted form 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Candidates are required to report at the test centre 1 hour before the exam begins. There will be 200 questions in the entrance exam.

KGMU Nursing Admit Card 2025

KGMU BSc nursing admit card 2025 will not be issued now. As King George's Medical University has cancelled the exam, therefore no exam-related events will be carried out anymore.  Instead, UP CNET admit card would be required for admission to the institute at the time of counselling. KGMU Nursing Counselling 2025

Counselling for admission to the KGMU Lucknow will be conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), UP, Lucknow. Applicants on the merit list will be invited to the counselling session. The conducting body will invite applicants for counselling in person based on the marks secured in the UP CNET entrance exam.

Candidates invited for the counselling have to attend the counselling at the allotted centre. Candidates would be required to submit and verify all necessary documents. The documents are needed for the verification. After completing the verification process, applicants will be allotted seats in the affiliated nursing colleges across Uttar Pradesh. The counselling will start after the declaration of the result.
