University is very good in terms of education and sports. Placements are bit dull now.

Placements: In my stream, placements have been a bit less in recent years, but I think this will change in the coming years, as per seniors. The highest package is 35 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. The top recruiters are Bajaj and TCS. Internships are less in my stream Mechanical, but if you learn other skills, it becomes possible.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure for Mechanical Engineering is amazing. Classrooms are a bit old, but they have projectors. Wi-Fi facility are available in all classrooms, but not everywhere. The food is average, but the hostel rooms are worth more than what you pay. There are 3–4 canteens in the university, but they serve only vegetarian food.

Faculty: Faculty members are very good and well-qualified, and the teaching quality is very good so far. Some feel the courses are a bit irrelevant, but I strongly disagree because engineering is not only about technical skills. The semester exams are moderate, especially if you're from a state board background.

Other: I take Mechanical because I don’t get into the ECE or CSE department. There are fests every semester. You will have scholarship opportunities if you maintain a decent CGPA.

A common review about the college one is studying in.

Placements: Around 70-80% of students will get placed every year. The highest salary package offered is 40 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 15 LPA to 17 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Google, Amazon, IBM, Apple, Microsoft, Zoho, Infosys, and many other leading companies. Internships depend on the students wish. If we have enough skills, we will get internships and if we don't have skills, we won't get internships.

Infrastructure: There are abundant amount of facilities for the enthusiastic students to take part on. Foundry, labs, research areas, library, etc., everything one dreams off is there. There are about 8 hostels for males and 7 hostels for females. Everything is new one, except some hostels which are also under construction so it ain't an issue. Medical facility is available 24X7. Separate grounds are there for football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, handball, and kabaddi. There is an interior stadium for badminton and table tennis.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified and only Ph.D. completed teachers where taken for the teaching post. The teaching quality is pretty good. I would rate 4 out of 5. The course curriculum is changed according to the present industry trend of the respective courses. Semester exams are difficult enough to test the students knowledge. The pass percentage is 70%.

You can get the Kumbakonam branch of sastra with your score. It's very hard for you to get a seat at the main campus of Sastra.

May be it's hard to get in main branch of sastra . You can have try by applying to both campuses so that you can have more chances to get in sastra. You have 100% chance of getting mechanical department in kumbakonam campus. Wish you luck

There are very low chances of your admission in these colleges because your rank is not good. You will get a nit or good college if you belong to a SC, ST category. Please try JOSAA app on play store, and use it's college cut-off and college predictions.
