Thapar University BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology BTech is a four-year undergraduate degree course, divided into eight semesters and offered in full-time mode. Admissions can be taken by presenting a valid JEE Main score. Class 12 performance is also taken into consideration. Students who have passed Class 12 with at least 60% with PCM/B are eligible to apply. Reserved category candidates require a minimum of 55% marks.
Thapar University BTech courses are spread across various specialisations. Some of the specialisations are, BTech in CSE, BTech in Biotechnology, BTech in ECE, BTech in Biomedical, BTech in Mechanical, BTech in Electrical Engineering, and more.
The institute also offers an International Engineering Program in collaboration with University of Queensland in five specialisations. In this course, candidates will spend two years of their curriculum at Thapar University and the rest are spent at University of Queensland.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology admission to all the BE/BTech courses is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam except BTech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering. Honestly, with 78% in boards, getting into Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology through the board merit route is quite difficult.
