Thapar University BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology BTech is a four-year undergraduate degree course, divided into eight semesters and offered in full-time mode. Admissions can be taken by presenting a valid JEE Main score. Class 12 performance is also taken into consideration. Students who have passed Class 12 with at least 60% with PCM/B are eligible to apply. Reserved category candidates require a minimum of 55% marks.
Thapar University BTech courses are spread across various specialisations. Some of the specialisations are, BTech in CSE, BTech in Biotechnology, BTech in ECE, BTech in Biomedical, BTech in Mechanical, BTech in Electrical Engineering, and more. Students can also take a lateral entry into these courses.

TIET admission to BE/BTech is conducted through two modes. 50% of the total BE/ BTech seats shall be filled based on Class 12 marks the other 50% will be filled based on JEE percentile. Step 1: Thapar University BTech application process:
Candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme at Thapar University must meet the eligibility requirements. The application process is carried out in online mode. Further, the steps to apply for application are as follows:
Step 1.1: Visit the official website of Thapar University (https://www.thapar.edu/) click on the 'Admission' tab and further click on 'Online Admission Form' from the drag-down menu.
Step 1.2: Read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration, and click on 'Start' to proceed with the registration step of the application process.
Step 1.3: Select BTch from the programme drop-down menu and register with the candidate's name, email ID, and contact number.
Step 1.4: Candidates will receive an application number, user ID, and password for future logins and a link to the application form to proceed with further steps.
Step 1.5: In the first stage of the application form, enter personal details, such as name, parents' name, age, nationality, etc. Also, enter the present address information along with the permanent address.
Step 1.6: Fill in the essential qualification details, including the year of passing and the school/ institution attended. Also, enter details about the JEE MAINS score.
Step 1.7: Upload the required set of documents and pay the Thapar University BTech application fee via debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
STEP 2: Release of Cutoff/Merit List
