VIT Vellore Courses & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate, Certificate Courses

Vellore Institute of Technology offers 66 UG, 58 PG, 15 integrated and two each of Research and M.Tech (Industrial) courses across multiple streams. The top courses of the institute, include BTech, MTech, MBA, etc. Candidates after completing Class 12 can apply for UG courses and graduation is necessary to apply for the PG courses. Eligible aspirants can apply for VIT admission. The institute conducts VITEEE for BTech admission,  VITMEE for M.Tech and VITREE for PhD admission. Other entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, NATA, etc., are accepted for providing admission to specific courses. Selected candidates are called for further selection rounds. A pass in regular, full-time UG/ Integrated degree from a recognised institute/ university of at least three years duration with a minimum of 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST candidates and applicants belonging to Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) is required to apply for the MBA course. 

Additionally, the institute shortlists candidates for MBA course based on national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, NMAT, ATMA. The shortlisted aspirants are further required to come for the PI round. Vellore Institute of Technology will also consider the academic performance and work experience of the candidates for final selection.

The institute offers over 20 BTech specialisations, namely Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Civil, Chemical, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, etc. Candidates, who have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% aggregate for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 from a recognised board, can take admission to BTech course. The Vellore Institute of Technology has announced the VITMEE exam dates on the official website. VITMEE exam was scheduled for April 28, 2026 and May 3, 2026. Applicants had to carry their VITMEE admit card along with one valid photo ID proof at the exam centre. 

VITEEE 2026 exam dates will be announced. The candidates will have to select their preferred slot. VITEEE 2026 application form will have to be submitted before the final date for the eligible candidates to be registered for the examination.

The facilities and amenities at VIT Vellore hostel include:

VIT Vellore BTech fee ranges between INR 6.9 lakh and 8.3 lakh. The fee changes depending on the specialisation. The total course fee has to be paid in the agreed upon instalments.

No, VIT Vellore admissions are not solely based on VITEEE. The university conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for MTech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). Admission to the VIT Vellore B.Tech course is based on the VITEEE score. VIT Engineering Entrance Exam is a computer-based test conducted for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The VITEEE question paper consists of 125 questions. The questions will be based on Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

VIT Vellore offers scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships. While merit scholarships are awarded to class toppers, economically challenged students are provided need-based financial assistance. Furthermore, NRI and foreign students are given scholarships upon presenting meritorious records. No entrance exams are required for applying to VIT Vellore BSc admissions. Candidates will be evaluated based on their last qualifying exam score whether from Class 12 board exams or final exams of a UG Diploma course.

Candidates willing to seek VIT Vellore BCom admission can apply in online mode by visiting the official website of the Deemed University. To access application and create login credentials, the students need to register by entering a few basic details, such as name, email ID, phone number, etc. The registered students can further login and fill out the application form. VIT Vellore BSc fees is different based on chosen specialisation. In 2026, candidates will be charged between INR 2.36 Lacs - INR 9.05 lakh. Candidates will be charged this fees on yearly basis in three or four equal installments. This fees is only comprised of tuition fees and caution deposit. Candidates opting for hostel services will need to pay hostel fees on top of it.
