MA + PhD (Dual Degree) is a six-year integrated course offered in Philosophy. Students who clear all the four semesters will be awarded MA in Philosophy to continue for PhD, aspirants need to fulfil certain requirements.

IIT Bombay MA + PhD Fee & Seats 2022

Some of the key highlights of MA + PhD are mentioned below: 

Total fee: INR 46,400 (for first two years after which PhD fee will be applicable)

Note: The above fee includes refundable fee worth INR 2,000 and excludes hostel expense (medical fee). Students will receive the amount at time of course completion, as per the institute guidelines.

Selection criteria: Dual-degree Entrance Examination in Philosophy (DEEP) + interview (Candidates with GATE score will be exempted from DEEP Stage-I)

Q:   Can I get MTech in IIT Bombay with GATE?
A:

Yes, GATE score is required to get admission to IIT Bombay course. However, aspirants who have not qualified GATE can also get admission based on written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round. In order to be eligible to apply for the course, an aspirant must have a BE/ BTech/ BSc/ Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning/ MSc/ MCA/ MBBS/ MPharm/ BPharm/ BDS/ degree recognised equivalent to BE/ BTech with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) earned through Associate Membership Examinations conducted by recognised professional bodies to apply for MTech course.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree (BA/ BCom/ BS/ BSc/ BE/ BTech) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate for GN/ EWS/ OBC (NC) and 55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD can apply for MA + PhD (Dual Degree).
