The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.

- The JEE Main registration 2026 is now open for IIT Ropar admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses. The registration deadline for session 1 is Nov 27, 2025, and the exam will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.

MTech at IIT Ropar is a PG course offered in the full-time mode. IIT Ropar fees are cumulative of components such as one-time payment, tuition fees, hostel charges and more. The tuition fees for MTech is INR 34000 for two years. The hostel fee amount to INR 37200. Additionally, selected candidates must pay a one-time fee at the time of admission. Candidates willing to get admission to various courses must apply online on the official website of the college. The modes of IIT Ropar course admissions are online and offline. Admission to various courses is based on the entrance exam followed by the counselling rounds. The entrance exams accepted for selection are JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, and IIT JAM.

Yes, IIT Ropar has eight hostels, six for boys (Satlej, Beas, Sindhu, Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune) and two for girls (Ravi, Venus) to house approximately 3000 students. IIT Ropar is a residential institute; therefore, all the students are required to reside in the hostels.
