CEED Application Form 2026 - IIT Bombay closed CEED registration on November 10, 2025 at 5 PM with late fee. Registrations were done with late fees of INR 500 till 5 PM. IIT Bombay also closed application form for CEED 2026 with regular fee on November 05, 2025.

CEED 2026 application fee was INR 4,000. The registration process includes steps like registration, filling personal, communication, education details and paying exam fee. Before completing form, one should refer to the prescribed eligibility criteria mentioned in CEED 2026 information brochure. 

CEED Entrance exam was conducted on January 18, 2026.

Steps to Fill CEED Application Form 2026

Check out the process to fill CEED Application form.

Online Registration: One has to register for CEED by entering email ID, name, date of birth, gender, address and mobile number. Also, candidates are required to create a password for newly created applicant account.

Check eligibility for CEED 2026: Once registration is complete, he/she will be redirected to an Eligibility Check for CEED 2026 window.

In the login window, enter the following details:

  • Qualifying exam
  • Passing year
  • Mobile number

On successful verification, candidate can move to the next step.

Fill in essential details: Fill in personal, correspondence and educational qualifications. Three exam centres can be selected.

Upload documents: Next one has to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, educational and category certificates. 

Pay the application fee: To complete application process, one has to pay the application fee. The fee can be paid in online mode, using net banking, debit or credit cards.

Eligibility Criteria for CEED

Candidates who want admission to CEED M.Des 2026 program need to make sure that they meet prescribed eligibility criteria.

Criteria Details
Educational Criteria

Candidates must have a degree/diploma/post-graduate degree programme of a minimum three years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2026. Or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2026.

Age

There is no upper age limit for appearing in the CEED 2026 exam. 

Attempts

There is no limitation on number of attempts to appear in CEED entrance exam.

Institute's criteria

Eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes may differ from those for appearing for CEED. Before applying for CEED, candidates must check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CEED 2026 entrance exam?
A: 

To appear in the CEED 2026 exam, the candidate must have passed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate degree exam of minimum three years. There is no limit on the upper age limit or number of attempts for appearing in CEED.

The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet for appearing in the CEED have been explained below.

  • Qualifying exam: The candidate must have completed a degree, Diploma, or postgraduate programme of a minimum of THREE years (after 10+2). Or, Appearing for the final exam of such a programme by July 2026 or, Must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5) level by July 2025.
  • Age limit - No upper age limit.
  • Number of Attempts - The CEED exam can be attempted any number of times.

It is incumbent on the candidate to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before filling out the CEED application form. It is because if the candidate doesn't meet any of the criteria, then he or she can be disqualified at any stage of the admission process.

Q:   What happens after I submit the CEED application?
A: 

Once the application is submitted and downloaded, CEED Admit card will be issued and candidates will be asked to check and report any discrepancies in their admit card within the deadline. After this, CEED Entrance examination will take place.

 

Q:   Where can I submit the CEED registration form? What is the application fee?
A: 

CEED 2026 registration form must be submitted online only through the official website. The registration fee is given below.

  • 2000 for all women candidates
  • 2000 for (SC/ST/PwD) candidates
  • 4000 for all other candidates

 This registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Document Checklist for filling out the CEED 2026 Application Form

Candidate must keep the following documents handy when filling CEED 2026 application form.

  1. Recent color photograph
  2. A scanned copy of your signature
  3. Scanned copy of degree/ diploma certificate
  4. Valid category certificates issued by appropriate authorities (for EWS/ SC / ST / OBC-NCL category candidates). 
  5. Valid medical certificate issued by appropriate authorities (for PwD category). PwD candidates requiring the services of a scribe during the exam must upload
    a certificate, if applicable, as per Appendix 10.
  6. Request letter to be uploaded by any PwD candidate who requires compensatory time during the exam
  7. Gazette notification, marriage certificate, or scanned pages of the passport to be uploaded by candidates whose name is not the same as mentioned on the degree/diploma certificate. Candidates whose name is not the same as the name on the degree/diploma certificate should produce a gazette notification or a bonafide marriage certificate or scanned pages of the passport reflecting the change of name

Q:   What is the last date to fill out the CEED 2026 application form?

IIT Bombay released the admission schedule for the CEED 2026 exam, including the application start and last dates, at the time of the release of the application form. The CEED application form was open from October 01, 2025 till November 05, 2025 with regular fees. 

Late fee window was open from November 06, 2025 to November 07, 2025.

Q:   When will the application form for CEED 2026 open?

CEED 2026 applications were open from October 1, 2025. The application had to be filled online at ceed.iitb.ac.in.

The candidate could apply with both regular and late fees.

All the details pertaining to the CEED 2026 application form have been updated on the admission portals, including the information brochure. The candidate needs to carefully go through the brochure to check their eligibility. Note that information entered by the candidate at the time of submitting their application form will be verified at the time of counseling. Any candidate who doesn’t meet the criteria will be disqualified.

Q:   Does IIT Roorkee offer PhD in Design course through CEED?
A: 

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.

Q:   Can I get admission in M.Des programme if I do not meet Part A cut-off?
A: 

The qualifying cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score in the paper to get shortlisted. Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate gets shortlisted.

So, if you don't meet Part A cut-off marks, you will not get shortlisted and you Part B answer booklets will not be evaluated. Also, note that only shortlisted candidates will be assigned a merit rank in CEED 2026.

Q:   When will CEED Examination 2026 be held?
A: 

CEED Entrance Examination 2026 was conducted on January 18, 2026. The exam timing was 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Q:   Can I apply for CEED 2026 exam offline?
A: 

There is no option to apply for CEED 2026 exam offline. Also, application forms submitted offline, after dowloading and taking a printout of the form and filling it offline, will not be accepted. 

Candidates may note that the CEED 2026 application process is completely online. So, to fill out the form, you need to go the CEED 2026 admission portals - ceed.iitb.ac.in. Click on the application link, fill in all the essential details, upload documents, and pay the fee to complete the application process.

Q:   How many students appear for CEED exam?
A: 

A total of 5090 candidates registered for CEED 2025, out of which 4371 candidates appeared, and 1848 candidates qualified in the exam. 

Q:   What is the difference between CEED and UCEED exam?
A: 
Both CEED and UCEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay. However, CEED scores are used to shortlist candidates for admission to the M.Des courses, whereas UCEED is an entrance exam for admission to the B. Des course. IIT Bombay also conducts a Joint Admission Process (or counseling) for UCEED qualified candidates. However, IIT Bombay doesn't conduct any joint counseling for CEED qualified candidates. Instead, candidates who have been assigned CEED merit ranks will have to apply directly to the participating college.
Q:   What is the process to fill out the CEED 2026 application form?

Application form for CEED 2026 is released online at ceed.iitb.ac.in. To fill the form

  • Go to CEED admission portal
  • Go to the registration page
  • Fill in your name, email id, and mobile number to get registered
  • After registration, log in to fill rest of the application form
  • Enter academic, personal, and contact details, upload documents and pay the application fee
  • Once application process is complete, download it.
Q:   What if I forget my CEED application login details?

Candidates can get their login credentials through Forgot Password option on CEED portal using their registered email ID.

  • Forgot Password option is available onCEED portal. While selecting this option, candidates will need to enter their registered email ID.
  • A password reset link or instructions will be sent to email.
  • By following steps mentioned in email, candidates can reset their password.
Q:   What is the application fee of CEED 2026?
A: 

The updated application fee that candidates have to pay an application fee when applying for the CEED exam is shown below.

Women candidates - INR 2000

SC, ST, PwD candidates - INR 2000

All other candidates - INR 4000

The candidate will have to pay a fee as per the category they belong. If the candidate selects the wrong category and pay the wrong feels, he or she may be disqualified. So, care must be taken when selecting ones category.

Q:   Whom should I contact if I have any problem with CEED 2026 registration process?
A: 

Candidates must report any issue faced by them while filling the CEED application form by clicking on the 'Report Problem' tab that is present on the right side of the application process windows. The tab is highlight in yellow colour. On clicking this tab, candidates had to elaborate on the problem that they are experiencing and also mention their registration number.

It was recommended that candidates fill out the form as soon as possible and don't wait for the last few days. It is because students could face server or other such issues which could delay or hinder the application process.

Q:   Is the CEED exam tough?
A: 

The difficulty level of CEED exam has been maintained by authorities over the years. However, most design aspirants share that if difficulty level of all design entrance exams conducted for PG level courses is compared then CEED is slightly easier than NID Entrance Exam. This is primarily because the drawing questions asked in NID that are considered to be tougher than those put forth in CEED exam. Note that CEED exam is for admission to the M.Des courses offered by the eight participating colleges. Meanwhile, the NID that for the M.Des programme has three participating colleges.

Q:   How many seats are there in CEED?
A: 
Seats available for CEED admission vary from one institute to the other (that accept the exam scores for admission). For e. g, IIT Hyderabad has 30 seats, while IISc Bangalore has 18 seats. Candidates are informed that CEED is just a qualifying exam. Thus, any aspirant who clears CEED exam may have to appear in further admission rounds that may be conducted by the participating college. The application process at the participating colleges typically open once the CEED entrance exam results are announced.
