IIT Delhi BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) Eligibility 2022

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board. Given below is the with a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) or be in the top 20 percentile.

Q:   Can you do MTech from IIT Delhi?
A: 

Yes, an MTech course is available at IIT Delhi. It is one of the popular programmes offered by the institute. The duration of this PG-level course is two years and it is divided into four semesters. Admission to IIT Delhi MTech courses is done on the basis of merit in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam score. Candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff also have to go through a counselling round. 

Q:   Who is eligible for IIT Delhi MSc course?
A: 

Candidates applying to a MSc course in IIT Delhi must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. Thus, aspirant must hold a valid bachelor's degree in a relevant stream for at least two years (four semesters) and a minimum aggregate between 55% and 80% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.

For MSc cognitive science/economic courses, the accepted degrees are BA/BSc/BCom/BTech/BE/BStat/BMath or equivalent. The total course fee for MSc course is ranges between INR 30K and INR 3 lakh.

 

Q:   Can I do MBA from IIT Delhi without CAT?
A: 

No, the institute offers admission based on CAT scores. Candidates seeking admission to IIT Delhi MBA course must apply online for CAT. IIT Delhi MBA admission is based on candidates' performance in the CAT entrance test, followed by a GD & PI round. Apart from this, candidates are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria for IIT Delhi MBA admission. To be eligible for MBA admission at IIT Delhi, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent of a minimum of three-years duration after Class 12 with a CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% aggregate. 

Q:   Is there any entrance exam for PhD at IIT Delhi?
A: 

Yes, IIT Delhi accepts GATE/CEED/UGC/CSIR/DBT/ICMR entrance exam scores for admission to different specialisations offered under the IIT Delhi PhD programme. Candidates shortlisted based on the exam score can be called for an interview round by some of the departments. The accepted exam can vary depending upon the chosen PhD specialisation.

IIT Delhi BTech-MTech (Dual Degree) Application Process 2022

The step-wise application process of IITD for BTech and BTech-MTech (dual degree) courses is given below: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of IIT Delhi (www.iitd.ac.in). On its homepage, click on ‘Admissions’. From the drop-down menu that appears, further, click on ‘Announcements’.

Step 2: The admission brochure, admission pamphlet and prospectus can be downloaded from this page. Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button to proceed further.

Step 3: The registration page opens up. Click on ‘New User Register Here'. Fill out the registration form with all the details, including name, email ID, contact number, course preference, etc. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins.

Step 4: Further, fill in the remaining application form by addressing other details, including guardian info, address of communication, qualifications, etc.

Step 5: Upload all the required documents in PDF format. Also, upload a passport-size photograph and signature and JPG/ JPEG format.

Step 6: Conclude the application process by paying an application fee using a debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

Before the JEE Main 2022 registration process, students must keep the following documents and information ready for a smooth application process:

  • Valid email-id and mobile number
  • Academic details related to the Class 10 and Class 12 qualifying exams
  • Scanned copy of category certificate (if applicable)
  • Scanned copy of PwD certificate (if applicable)
  • Scanned photograph and signature as per the specification mentioned by the NTA
  • Net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI details for application fee payment

General AI category students need to secure a rank of at least 22, or preferably lower for admission to MSc in Economics programme. For other categories, the highest acceptable rank is given below for the same course.

No, staying at the IIT Delhi hostel is not compulsory. Hostel accommodation is not offered to students staying within a 15km radius of the institute. There are 12 boys' hostels and 5 girls' hostels at the engineering institute.
