MHCET 2018 exam was held on May 10 for admissions to engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture colleges in Maharashtra. According to students, the paper was the easiest in the history of the exam and as compared to other engineering entrances conducted across the country. It was reported that the level of MHCET 2018 was not even close to that of JEE Mains 2018. Most of the questions were either information or formula based while there were hardly any conceptual questions in the paper.

This is the first year when MHCET comprised the syllabuses of Class XI and XII as compared to previous years where only Class XII syllabus was a part of the exam. The paper was expected to be lengthy or difficulty as the exam pattern changed but students found the paper to be extremely easy with ample time to attempt all questions.

In 2018, MHCET witnessed a 14 % rise in registrations from the state with 4.34 lakh students signing up for the exam. In 2018, around 435606 candidates have registered for MHCET 2018. Out of these, 256306 (58.8%) are male candidates while 179288 (41.2%) are female aspirants.

MHCET comprises three question papers comprising multiple choice type questions. Each paper had 100 marks and 90 minutes. From 2018, 20% of the weightage will be given to Class XI curriculum and 80% of the weightage will be given to Class XII curriculum. MHCET 2018 results will be declared on or before June 3, 2018. MHCET 2018 results will have the name of the applicant, sectional score, aggregate score and qualification status. The merit list for MHCET is prepared on the marks secured by aspirants in the exam. Only those aspirants who qualify the minimum cut off will be eligible to appear for MHCET counselling.
