IBPS PO exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as marking scheme, total marks, time duration, etc. IBPS PO exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims exam, Mainsexam and interview. IBPS PO prelims exam comprises three sections-Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and English Language. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. There are sectional timings in the exam. IBPS PO Mains exam comprises both objective and descriptive-type questions. The total marks allotted to the Mains exam are 225. The duration of the test is 3 hours 10 minutes. The total marks allotted to the interview are 100.

IBPS PO educational qualification is a Degree/Graduation in any discipline from a university recognised by the government. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidates must possess valid marksheet/degree Certificate that they are graduate on the day they register and indicates the percentage of marks obtained in graduation while registration online. All educational mentioned by the examination authority should be from a university/institution/board recognised by government. Of India/approved by government/approved by government on or before July 21, 2026.  Proper document from Board / University for having declared the result on or before
July 21, 2026 has to be submitted at the time of interview. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation are not eligible to apply for the exam. At the time of interview, candidates are required to submit the educational qualification certificates.

IBPS PO prelims exam is conducted in four shifts -9 am to 10 am, 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, 2 pm to 3 pm, and 4 pm to 5 pm. IBPS PO Mains exam is conducted in two shifts- 9 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5.30 pm. The shift timings of the prelims and Mains exams are mentioned on the admit card. Candidates need to appear for the exam as per their shift timings. Candidates reporting late to the exam centre will not be allowed to enter the exam hall. The selection of candidates for the interview is done on the basis of Mains exam. The interview carries 100 marks. After clearing it, candidate will be considered selected. The Mains exam was conducted on October 12.

At times due to the heavy load at the server, IBPS PO admit card page takes time to load. In such case, candidates should not panic rather they should try downloading the admit card within certain interval of time. It is better to download the admit card at night. Moreover, candidates must also check their internet connectivity. In the admit card login page, candidates need to enter registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. IBPS PO admit card comprises the details related to the exam such as the candidate’s name, roll number, date of birth, password, details related to exam centre, date of exam, reporting time and many more.

If your photograph in the admit card is not clear, inform the examination authority regarding the same so that they can correct the photograph and issue you the fresh admit card. It is important to check the details printed on the admit card carefully because for discrepancies in details you will not be allowed to appear for the exam. The details printed on the admit card are matched with the photo-identity proof document by the exam centre officials. Candidates need to carry the printed copy of their admit cards along with one photo-identity proof to the exam centre. Candidates should download their admit cards online by logging with the required details. Candidates should also carry passport-size photographs along with the admit card.

IBPS PO full form stands for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officers. The exam is conducted online once a year and comprises three-stage selection process-prelims, Mains and interview. Candidates are recruited in 11 participating banks. The final selection of candidates is done based on the Mains exam and interview. The prelims exam comprises 100 marks and Mains paper carries 225 marks.

A reserve list to the extent of approximately 10 percent of the vacancies under each category may be kept, subject to the availability of candidates. This does not guarantee provisional allotment to/recruitment by the participating banks. In the event of Participating Banks providing further vacancies, provisional allotment may be carried out three to four times for the candidates in the reserve list.

IBPS PO syllabus is different for prelims and Mains exams. The syllabus for the prelims exam includes topics from Quantitative Aptitude Reasoning and English . The syllabus for the Mains exam includes topics from Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude & General Awareness as well as the topics for Letter Writing and Essay for the descriptive paper. The IBPS PO 2025 application form was released on July 1, 2025. The IBPS released the IBPS PO 2025 notification online only on its official website - ibps.in on June 30, 2205. The candidates can fill out the IBPS PO 2025 online applications form.

The IBPS PO 2025 prelims exam will be conducted on August 17, 23 and 24, 2025.

IBPS PO exam dates are announced along with the notification. The exam dates announced by the examination authority are considered as final and cannot be rescheduled. IBPS reserves the right to change the exam date of IBPS PO. The exam is conducted in three phases-prelims, Mains and interview. The prelims and Mains exams are conducted in multiple shifts. Candidates selected for the post of IBPS PO are entitled to the post of medical facility, newspaper allowance, travel allowance, HRA, DA and other allowances. These allowances are offered to candidates along with the IBPS PO salary. The allowances offered to candidates are given below:

The selection process of IBPS PO 2026 has three stages.

• Preliminary Exam.
• Mains Exam.
• Interview.

The final selection is based on the combined marks of Mains and interview. The prelim exam is qualifying in nature and based on its performance, candidate give the mains exam.

Yes, candidates selected for the post of IBPS PO will be on probation for two years. During probation, the performance of candidates is assessed. They need to undergo training in the various branches. On successful completion of training, candidates are confirmed to the position of Probationary Officers. During the probation period, candidates are trained on various banking services. They are also required to undergo certain banking courses. The basic salary of IBPS PO is INR 48,480. Besides the salary, candidates are also entitled to various perks and benefits.

IBPS mentions IBPS PO reserve list to the extent of approximately 10 per cent of the vacancies under each category subject to the availability of candidates. This does not guarantee provisional allotment/recruitment by the participating banks. In the event of participating banks providing further vacancies, provisional allotment may be carried out three to four times for the candidates in the reserve list, based on the vacancies provided by some or any of the participating banks. However, if no vacancy is furnished by the participating banks owing to exigencies or otherwise during the validity period, the candidates under the reserve list will not be considered for provisional allotment. Candidates who are not provisionally allotted or not in the reserve list will not be considered for any further process.
