Read further to know how to prepare for the AIBE 19 (XIX) 2024 Exam in the next few months.

AIBE or All India Bar Examination is a national-level examination which is conducted by Bar Council of India (BCI). AIBE 19 (XIX) Exam is scheduled to be held on November 24, 2024. AIBE 19 will be held in offline mode. All those candidates who clear the AIBE Exam 2024 will be issued Certificate of Practice (COP). The passing marks for General Category and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) is 40 per cent and for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is 35 per cent marks. The participants who have attained passing marks are eligible for a "Certificate of Practice".

Eligibility of AIBE (19) 2024

In order to be eligible for AIBE 19 (XIX) 2024, the participant should have/ be

  • Completed 3 Years LLB degree or 5 Years Integrated Law degree from a recognised law college/university
  • Enrolled as an Advocate in State Bar Council under Section 24(1)(f) of the Advocates Act, 1961

The next AIBE exam in 2024 was AIBE 19 (XIX). The Bar Council of India (BCI) released the official notification for the exam on August 24, 2024. The AIBE 19 exam was conducted on December 22, 2024. AIBE (All India Bar Examination) is a certification exam that assesses an advocate’s capability to practice law in India. AIBE 2024 Preparation Strategy

Start your preparation as early as possible so that you would get sufficient time for revision as well. Smart work approach should be adopted by students as the syllabus is vast. Understand the important concepts from Bare Acts (as stated above). Also, read the important judgements as well as landmark judgements delivered by the Supreme Court and various High Courts in the country.

Previous Year Exam Evaluation

In the previous year’s examination, the questions were from diverse topics of law such as Constitutional Law, Administrative, Evidence as well as Procedural Laws. The questions are simple in nature, but deep conceptual knowledge is required to solve it. Hence, it is advised to at least read Bare Acts of all subjects once.

General Tips for AIBE

  • Understand the basic concepts from Bare Acts itself
  • Make charts for revising important concepts
  • Devote sufficient time for revision
  • Devise a routine plan for covering the syllabus and stick to it
  • Clarify all the basic concepts from one book
  • Check the recent syllabus before the preparation
  • Adopt certain habits to reduce stress level i.e. Yoga, Exercise, etc.
  • For self-evaluation, solve at least 10-15 previous years’ papers to find out loopholes in your preparation
  • Develop a habit of reading newspapers regularly this would help in keeping updated about the recent changes in the law for e.g. important judgments

Final semester candidates of LLB without backlogs are eligible to apply for AIBE-20 exam. Because you are in 5th semester of LLB and AIBE 20 will be held in December 2025. So not eligible for AIBE 20.
