The registration process of CMAT 2017, the online aptitude test conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) began on October 10, 2016. The last date to apply for the same is December 25, 2016.
This is the second time that the registration date has been extended. Earlier, the last date to apply was December 10, 2016 which was extended by 5 days, and the last date to register was December 15, 2016. However, this date has again been extended by 10 days, and now the last date to register for the exam is December 25, 2016. Interested candidates can fill up the form available on the official website.

CMAT 2017 is scheduled to be held on January 28, 2017. January 29 will be 'reserve day', which means exam will be held on that day only in case of any emergency.
Though the dates for application process and exams have been announced, there's no update on the date of declaration of result.
Here are the steps to follow while filling up the form:
- For registration, you need to visit the official website and register as ‘new user’.
- Read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and proceed.
- Fill the given fields with required information.
- After clicking on ‘submit’ tab a unique 6 digit password will be generated. The password will be sent to the candidate via an email and/or an SMS. With this password the candidate can log on to the website anytime as ‘existing user’.
- Next, the candidate will be asked to pay the registration fee. Candidates can pay online via Net Banking / Credit / Debit Card or by submitting a Challan in the nearest SBI Bank branch.
- The challan form will be available CMAT website and the candidates need to take three print outs of the same, fill it and submit to the nearest SBI Bank branch.
- Test fees for General and OBC candidates is Rs 1400 while for SC/ST/PD candidates it is Rs 700.
- The candidates will be next asked to fill up the application form. The form ask for information like, candidate’s name, father’s name, DOB, marks obtained in school and college, address, email, phone number and photo.
- The candidates must recheck the details entered in the application form before clicking the ‘submit’ button as the information cannot be edited after that.
On clicking the submit button, the application process will be complete.
The admit cards are likely to be issued a week before the exam dates.

CMAT total marks is 400. It is usually considered that scoring 270 to 300 marks can convert into good percentile, about 99 percentile. Around 200 marks can get you 90 percentile which is also good if you are targeting private colleges.
