MAT Internet Based Test (IBT) mode has gained a lot of popularity among MBA aspirants in the past three years as it is flexible and convenient. The All India Management Association (AIMA) introduced Internet Based Test (IBT) mode for MAT in 2020 following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. in the IBT mode, candidates can appear for the MAT exam from home. The MAT IBT exam is remotely proctored by the examination authorities. IBT was the safest form of entrance test administration in the times of COVID-19 as the candidates did not have to move out of their homes. Now, the COVID scare is not there, yet the candidates prefer IBT mode of the test because of its accessibility. Students from areas areas where there is on MAT test centre can also take the test. All they need is a computer system and internet connectivity.
Moreover, the IBT is conducted in multiple slots (10 AM to 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM) on multiple days, so the test taker can choose the day and slot as per their convenience. MAT IBT exam is conducted in remotely proctored mode where in the candidates have to take the test on their personal laptop or desktop with a functional webcam. Monitoring of the test is done with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a human proctor. Test takers have to keep the webcam of their camera on throughout the MAT exam duration, so that the AI and human proctor can invigilate the test for cheating and other malpractice. Candidates are not supposed to move away from the camera or interact with another person during the exam session.

MAT IBT Mode: Test Requirements
For appearing in MAT 2023 exam in IBT mode, candidates need to ensure they have a desktop/laptop that fulfills the following technical requirements. In case, the system shuts down or the internet speed is disrupted, the MAT IBT will be closed and candidates will not be able to resume the test. So, they need to ensure that they don't face any technical difficulty during the IBT or else their exam attempt will be wasted.

The percentile needed for admission would depend on the category you belong to. JAGSoM accepts various entrance examinations for admission to the MBA/PGDM course, like CAT, XAT, MAT, etc.
