Applying to various b-schools and keeping a track of MBA admission alerts is important for all CAT aspirants. Neha Deore shares some important tips on shortlisting MBA institutes based on your CAT score.
I know you guys studied hard and gave your best in the exam, but now what to do next? The next steps are very important steps.
Firstly don't overthink your exam after it is over and it's time to move on. If your exams went good then well done, but if not then chill not all is lost, think about what you already learned, wait for your results, take a break and chill out. You worked hard and deserve a treat yourself. Go on holiday or do whatever that you like, just give your brain some rest before you think about your next options.
Explore colleges based on CAT
When you are giving CAT exam then your target should be top 40 to 50 colleges, so that you can start a successful and secure career from good colleges.
Always remember that you have to fill separate forms for different colleges, never miss any college form and always keep an eye on colleges where you have to apply. Students give their CAT exam but they forget to fill college forms. Suppose you get 99 percentile in CAT exam and you forget to apply to a college where you wanted admission, then you will not get a selection round call. Even after getting 99 percentile if you don't fill college forms then they will not call you, so be alert!
If you score a good percentile then what to do?
Shortlist a good MBA college according to specialization. There are some colleges which are good for marketing placement while some are excellent for finance. In this manner, you have to search for all the colleges and choose one college. For choosing a college, you should know what your requirements are, on that basis which college is fulfilling it and then search for such kind of colleges.
You have to search not only for colleges but also for specialization in which you want to do MBA. For that you need to meet your friends, ask relatives who have done MBA, understand which profile they started working in after college and exactly what they are doing in their job. This will give you an idea about what specialization is good for you, which profile you can apply for after doing an MBA, etc.

Yes, CAT exam is MCQ type, meaning there are no subjective type questions wherein you have to write a lot. In CAT every question is to be answered in one word or option. However, all questions don't have MCQ options, some are Type In The Answer (TITA) questions.

Yes, students can prepare for the KMAT exam along with the CAT exam. However, CAT is comparatively a difficult MBA exam. The difficulty level of KMAT is easy to moderate, but CAT retains high difficulty levels. Students can use CAT books for KMAT preparation
