XLRI conducts AEW/PI to assess the candidate’s communication skills, business knowledge, problem solving skills, leadership quality, personality and other skills/traits required to make it big in the business world. Besides performance in the group discussion and personal interview, XAT score, relevant work experience, academic background, extra-curricular activities is taken into consideration for selecting a deserving candidate.
XLRI Admission: Essay Writing or AEW
Analytical Essay Writing or AEW allows a management aspirant to showcase their knowledge about relevant issues and ability to share opinion on the same with clarity. In the XLRI AEW, candidates are given an economic, social, business or abstract topic on which they have to write a short essay of 250 words explaining their point of view in a coherent, concise and convincing manner. Essay Writing was earlier the part of XAT exam but for the past two years it is conducted separately at the time of PI shortlisting.

XLRI Admission: Importance of PI
Personal Interview or PI is conducted by the XLRI to know the candidate's personality and their area of expertise or interest better as well as assess their communication skills and ability to handle pressure. The PI round has a panel of experts inteviewing the candidate. The questions usually pertain to candidate's academics, work experience and career goals. Candidates are advised to practice PI and publich speaking. Also, prepare their CV in a way that it has every achievement listed on it.
