Yes, you can download another copy of your XAT scorecard. You will not be charged any fee for it. You need to simply log in to your XAT account with your credentials used at the time of form filling. Once you have logged in, you can go to the student dashboard and click on the link indicating scorecard, to download it. It is advised to candidates that they should preserve a copy of their XAT result cum scorecard until the end of admission process and even afterwards, as the scorecard is the only proof of their clearing the XAT exam. XAT score calculation process is simple as the marking scheme is pretty straightforward. The total marks of XAT 2025 is 95. The test has 95 questions each carry 1 mark. Section wie distribution is:

VALR: 26 marks

DM: 21 marks

QADI: 28 marks

GK: 20 marks

However, since GK marks are not to be included in XAT score and percentile calculation, the total marks have to be calculated from VALR, DM and QADI sections. So, for every correct option, candidate can give themselve 1 mark and for every incorrect option they need to subtract 0.25 marks. Further, for 8 consecutive unanswered questions, they need to subtract 0.10 marks. The final number arrived at will be XAT raw score.

Sectional cut off for XAT refers to the minimum percentile fixed for each section of the exam that candidates have to meet. XAT 2026 result date has not been announced by XLRI. However, since the scorecards are released by the third week of January every year, the XAT result 2026 can also be expected to be released by January 17 or 20, 2026.

XAT selection criteria and admission process of XLRI Jamshedpur includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of XAT score or GMAT score, group discussion and personal interview. The final selection is based on criteria such as entrance exam score, group discussion, personal interview, academic record, work experience, academic diversity and gender diversity. Meeting the XAT cut off is the minimum requirement to be eligible for XLRI MBA admission. XAT cut offs are determined by XLRI Jamshedpur and the important factors it takes into consideration include exam difficulty level, average scores, average pass percentage, number of seats, number of test takers and previous year’s cut offs. There is no official list of parameters for cut off determination but it is understood that these factors play an important role in the process.  

It has been seen that XAT cut offs normally don’t change more than 1 or 2 percentile. For example, in XAT 2022, the cut off for PGDM BM course was 93 percentile for male candidates and in XAT 2023, it was 95. In XAT 2021, the cut off for same category was 94.

Candidates must remember that there is no separate application form for XLRI PGDM programmes, so they need to make the selection of institute in the XAT application form only. There is no option to edit the field in the form later so candidates must mention the institute in the XAT application form. There is no provision of filling the admission form after the exam or after result announcement.

Candidates planning to take admission to XLRI Jamshedpur need not fill a separate form. The XAT application form includes a field in which the candidates have to select XLRI course in which they want to take admission.

XAT score is calculated on the basis of raw scores obtained a candidate in each section. In the XAT exam, every correct answer carries 1 mark and every incorrect entry carries – 0.25 marks. There is no negative marking for skipping a question. But, in case of eight consecutive unanswered questions, 0.10 marks will be deducted. XAT has about 99 questions on which the score calculation is done. So, for example, if you have got 70 questions correct and 8 questions in correct, then your raw XAT score will be 70 – 1 = 69.

If you have not answered 8 questions consecutively, then your score will be 69- 0.10 =  68.90. This raw score will be further calculated to arrive at XAT percentile.
