Q:   From where can I download FMGE Previous Year Papers?
A:

FMGE Previous Year Papers are important source to seek firsthand information regarding the difficulty level of the exam. FMGE Previous Year Papers can be accessed from various books in which previous year questions have been collated by the authors. The FMGE Previous Year Papers are also available on several website in PDF format for the aspirants to download.

The exam conducting body does not allow candidates to retrieve the question paper as the exam is conducted in online mode. Therefore, the available previous year question papers are mostly memory-based and not the actual ones which are asked in the exam.

Q:   Will there be any subjective type questions in FMGE ?
A:

No. The FMGE 2025 exam pattern clearly states that the question paper will only have multiple choice/objective types questions. There will be 300 questions for which 5 hours will be allotted to the candidates. Each question will have a weightage of 1 mark. There will be NO negative marking in the exam. 

Q:   What important topics are expected from FMGE Physiology subject?

There are several important topics in this subject which candidates can expect in the FMGE exam. However, looking at the past trend, here is the list of some important topics which a candidate must prepare to fetch good percentile in the physiology subject, such as: General Physiology, Body fluids – Blood, Nerve and Muscle, Gastrointestinal Tract, Kidney, Skin and Body temperature, Endocrine Glands, Reproduction, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Central Nervous Systems, Special Senses

Q1. Which of the following methods is used to measure fetal anemia - Peak systolic velocity in the fetal middle cerebral artery (MCA). 

Q2. A patient with a history of breast cancer underwent cobalt-60 radiotherapy. She now faces respiratory distress and imaging shows haziness in her left lung. A possible cause is - Radiation Pneumonitis.  

Q3. A patient with a history of dysphagia, which is more pronounced for liquids than solids. Which radiological sign is most likely seen - Rat-tail sign

Q4. What is primary use of imaging modality - Staging of esophageal cancer

Q5. What is most likely diagnosis (IMAGE) - Pulmonary Edema

Q6. 70 year old patient, with absolute constipation & abdominal distension - Sigmoid Volvulus

FMGE 2025 Qualifying Marks

To clear the FMGE exam candidates must secure a minimum qualifying percentile. It is determined by the NBE based on various factors. As per notificiation, the qualifying percentile has to be 50th percentile. It means candidates need to score equal to or higher than the 50th percentile of all test-takers to pass.   

The FMGE qualifying marks are the minimum scores that candidates must achieve to pass the examination and obtain a certificate. The qualifying marks for the FMGE 2025 exam are 150 out of 300 . This means candidates must secure at least 50% marks to pass the exam.

The authorities will release the result of FMGE on February 12, 2025. The FMGE is a licensure examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations of Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in India.

FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) 2026 is a compulsory licensing test conducted by the NBEMS. It is for Indian/OCI citizens who obtained their medical degree (MBBS) from outside India. Passing this 300-mark screening test is mandatory to practice medicine in India.
