The FMGE 2026 exam will be held at many exam centres across India. The exam is expected to go smoothly. The FMGE December 2026 exam will be in online mode (computer-based test). After the exam, students will share their feedback. Based on this feedback, the FMGE 2026 question paper analysis and the answer key will be shared on official websites.
The FMGE 2026 admit card for the December session will be released in the fourth week of July 2026. The FMGE 2026 exam for the June session is expected to be held on June 28, 2026. After the exam, the FMGE 2026 June session result may come in the last week of August 2026.
These dates are not final yet. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will confirm them later. Students must also know about the FMGE 2026 qualifying marks. These marks are important to pass the exam. Most students say that the FMGE 2026 paper will be of a medium (moderate) level. It will be similar to previous exams.

The exam will be held in two shifts:
- Morning Shift: 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM

FMGE Entrance Exam is held for?

- The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a compulsory exam. The exam is for Indian citizens and OCI students who studied medicine in another country.
- The exam is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). It checks if students have enough medical knowledge to work as doctors in India.
- To pass FMGE, students must score 50 per cent marks. After passing, they can register with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the State Medical Council. Then, they can work as a doctor in India.

FMGE 2026 Qualifying Marks (Expected)
To clear the FMGE exam, students must secure a minimum qualifying percentile. It is determined by the NBE based on various factors. As per notificiation, the qualifying percentile has to be 50th percentile. It means students need to score equal to or higher than the 50th percentile of all test-takers to pass.
The FMGE qualifying marks are the minimum scores that students must achieve to pass the examination and obtain a certificate. The qualifying marks for the FMGE exam last year was between 150 out of 300. This means students must secure at least 50 per cent marks to pass the exam.
The authorities will release the result of FMGE on February 12, 2026, as per last year trends for the december. The FMGE is a licensure examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations of Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in India.

The FMGE exam has 300 MCQs worth 300 marks. Each correct answer gives 1 mark, and there is no negative marking. The exam is divided into two sections, Part A and Part B; each section is of 2 and a half hours. To pass, one must score 150 out of 300.

There is currently no limit on total number of attempts for FMGE. You can appear for as many sessions as needed. Very soon, National Exit Test (NExT) will replace FMGE exam. It may introduce new regulations regarding attempt limits once implemented. As of now, no limit for re-attempts.

Candidates must bring the following documents to the test center to be allowed entry. Digital copies on mobile phones are strictly not accepted.
