National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional NEET 2021 answer keys on October 15 after a month of conducting the exam. The last date to submit challenges against NEET answer keys or OMR questions is October 17. NEET 2021 was successfully conducted on September 12. The coaching institutes across the country had released the unofficial answer keys for NEET 2021 on the same date. NEET 2021 candidates have already checked the set-wise unofficial answer keys and are now waiting for the official NEET 2021 answer key by NTA.

The fee for submitting challenges or objections against the NEET 2021 answer keys is INR 1,000 and that of OMR sheet question or graded response challenge is INR 200. Let us take a detailed look at the process to check and file objections for NEET 2021.

How to Download NTA NEET 2021 Answer Keys

Candidates have to follow the steps given below to download the NTA NEET 2021 answer keys.

  • Visit the official website of NEET 2021 – neet.nta.nic.in

  • Click on the tab indicating ‘View and Challenge Answer Key, OMR and Recorded Responses’

  • Check answer keys as per NEET 2021 question paper set

What After Checking NEET 2021 Answer Keys by NTA?

After checking the NEET 2021 official answer keys, candidates should do the following:

  • Tally the set-wise NEET answer keys with those released by coaching institutes

  • In case of any mismatch, candidates can crosscheck further by referring to the detailed solutions

  • In case it is further established that the NEET 2021 official answer key/s are wrong, then candidates can decide to file objections against one or more keys

  • In case of no disparity in the official and unofficial NEET answer keys 2021, test takers can simply calculate their estimated scores by following the marking scheme of the exam

NEET 2021 Marking Scheme

According to the NEET 2021 marking scheme, each question carries four marks and there is one mark of negative marking for each wrong answer.

Total marks scored in NEET = (Total Number of Correct Answers*4) – Total Number of incorrect answers.

How to Raise Objections Against NTA NEET Official Answer Key

The procedure to raise objections against the NTA NEET 2021 official answer keys is as follows:

    • Visit the official website and click on the tab ‘Challenge Answer Keys’

    • Click on ‘Apply Answer Key Challenge’ and select the ‘Test Booklet Code’

    • Login with application number and date of birth
    • Select the questions to be challenged

    • Select the answer that is correct according to the candidate and provide the necessary justification

    • Upload supporting documents by clicking on 'Choose File' tab in a single PDF file
    • After clicking your desired option, for Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology for NEET (UG) -2021, ‘Save your Claim’ and move to the next screen
    • Click on ‘Save Your Claim and Pay Fee Finally’

    • Pay the requisite fee using debit or credit card, Net Banking or Paytm

    • Download and save the confirmation slip

Candidates will receive a confirmation on their email and SMS.

How to Challenge NEET 2021 OMR Sheet Questions and Graded Responses

To challenge the OMR sheet questions, candidates have to follow the below procedure:

  • Visit the NTA NEET website
  • Login with Application Number and Date of Birth
  • Select 'OMR Challenge' on the left side of the page
  • Select questions for challenge
  • The number next to the Question under the column ‘Captured Response as per OMR Sheet’ stands for the option opted by the Candidates in the OMR Answer Sheets
  • There will be three options under the column ‘Candidate’s Claim’
  • For challenging this option, candidates will have to use the Options given in the ‘Candidate’s Claim’ column
  • After clicking your desired option, for Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2021, scroll down, ‘Submit’, and move to the next screen
  • Click on ‘Submit' and Pay Fee Finally’
  • After successful payment, download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt

The fee for challenging each NTA NEET answer key 2021 is INR 1,000 and challenging the OMR Answer Sheet Grading and Recorded Responses is INR 200.

NTA will release the final NEET 2021 official answer keys along with the NEET 2021 result tentatively in the fourth week of September. NEET 2021 was conducted in 3,855 exam centres in 202 cities across India and abroad. Out of 16.41 lakh candidates, 95 per cent of candidates had appeared for the exam. Jaipur and Kavaratti received the maximum and the minimum number of registrations respectively.
