The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences(NBEMS) is conducting the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE) 2026 today in two shifts. The NBEMS does not release the official question paper and answer key pdf in the public domain. It follows a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement(NDA).
The FMGE is conducted for candidates who have completed their MBBS in a foreign country and are required to clear it to become eligible for a medical practitioner license in India. The FMGE is only a qualifying exam; candidates need to score over 50% marks in the exam to clear the exam.

FMGE 2026 Exam Analysis
The FMGE exam shift one was over at 11.30 AM. The candidates who appeared in the exam shared that the paper was difficult. The candidates who have conceptual clarity found the paper doable. The candidates who researched the topics (given in the syllabus) found the paper easy to answer. The paper demanded in-depth research of the medicine system.

There are around 35- 40 thousands student participate in the FMGE exam every year. Though this data can be changed if the number of applicants or difficulty level of exam changes drastically.
Last year in 2023 a total of 38,355 applicants participate and the FMGE passing percentage was 23%.

FMGE 2026 Shift Timing
The FMGE test the candidates for Pre, Para and Clinical subjects in two shifts. The candidates need to score at least 50 % marks in both the papers separately. The candidates can see the FMGE 2026 shift timing below:
