The NTA is inviting registrations for the NEET 2026 exam from February 8 to March 8, 2026. Aspirants need to register for the exam and fill out the NEET application form 2026 in online mode. While filling the online application form, candidates need to capture their live photo and upload their passport-size and postcard-size photos. The NEET application is incomplete without the postcard-size photograph. Students often overlook the NEET Photo requirements 2026 and end up getting confused. NTA provides the details of the format and dimensions of the NEET postcard-size photo to be uploaded on the NEET 2026 application form. The table below contains the details regarding the NEET postcard-size photographs.

NEET Photo Requirements 2026: Guidelines Regarding Postcard Size Photo

NTA has also stated some other guidelines regarding post card size photos for NEET. Let us take a look at the details here.

• Candidates’ faces should be clearly visible including 80 per cent of candidates’ faces and ears.

• The photograph should not be more than six months old.

• Candidates should not click the photograph wearing caps, sunglasses, or spectacles unless they wear them regularly.

• The background of the photograph should be plain white.

• Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable.

• The photograph need not be attested; however, the candidate’s name and date of taking the photo must appear below the image.

• Candidates may note that if the photographs uploaded are found to be fabricated i.e. de-shaped or seem to be hand-made or computer-made, the application of the candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using Unfair Means and the candidate would be dealt with accordingly.

• If someone else’s photographs have been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

• The same Passport size and postcard size photographs are to be used for uploading with the online application Form and for pasting on the Attendance Sheet at the Examination Centre / Counselling / Admission.

• Candidates should keep 6 to 8 passport size photos and 4 to 6 postcard size (4”X6”) colour photographs with white backgrounds for NEET exam.

Other Documents Required for NEET 2026 Application Form

• Left and right-hand fingers and thumb impression
• Signature
• Category Certificate (if applicable)
• Class 10 or equivalent Pass Certificate
• Class 10 or equivalent Mark Sheet
• Class 10 or equivalent CGPA to percentage Conversion Certificate
• Identity Proof (for those candidates who will verify their identities through methods other than Aadhaar or Digilocker) 
• Address Proof (Present and Permanent)
• Person With Benchmark Disability (PwBD) Certificate (if applicable)
• Citizenship certificate (applicable for NRI/OCI/Foreign citizen candidates)

How to Upload Photo on NEET Application Form 2026?

Candidates can upload their photos on the NEET 2026 application form using the process shared below-

• Visit neet.nta.nic.in.

• Click on the New Registration link.

• Enter the personal and communication details.

• Select the password, and security question and submit.

• Fill up the sections such as personal details, contact details, educational details, select the question paper medium, and NEET exam centre city.

• Upload the photo, signature and other documents.

• Pay the application fee.

• Download and print the application confirmation.
