The NTA is inviting registrations for the NEET 2026 exam from February 8 to March 8, 2026. Aspirants need to register for the exam and fill out the NEET application form 2026 in online mode. While filling the online application form, candidates need to capture their live photo and upload their passport-size and postcard-size photos. The NEET application is incomplete without the postcard-size photograph. Students often overlook the NEET Photo requirements 2026 and end up getting confused. In case candidates are not allotted any seat in the second round of the NEET UG counselling, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will be retained. However, on up-gradation of a seat in the second round, the earlier allotted seat in Round 1 will automatically be cancelled and allotted to another candidate. Therefore, candidates are advised to fill in only higher choices or any other choice which they prefer over the earlier allotted seat, for second round.
Till last year, candidates were provided N95 masks at the NEET exam centre which was mandatory to be used by candidates. They had to dispose of their own masks before entering the exam centre at the designated bin. However, since the intensity of Covid has reduced as compared to the last two years, this year candidates may not be provided masks at the centre. The information will be confirmed after the release of the NEET admit card. However, it is recommended that they wear face masks for the entire duration. This should be done to ensure their and other test-takers' safety.

The NEET UG 2026 re exam is scheduled to be held on June 21. The May 3 exam was cancelled by NTA due to alleged paper leak.
NEET Photo Requirements 2026: Guidelines Regarding Postcard Size Photo
NTA has also stated some other guidelines regarding post card size photos for NEET. Let us take a look at the details here.

Candidates’ faces should be clearly visible including 80 per cent of candidates’ faces and ears.

The photograph should not be more than six months old.

Candidates should not click the photograph wearing caps, sunglasses, or spectacles unless they wear them regularly.

The background of the photograph should be plain white.

Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable.

The photograph need not be attested; however, the candidate’s name and date of taking the photo must appear below the image.

Candidates may note that if the photographs uploaded are found to be fabricated i.e. de-shaped or seem to be hand-made or computer-made, the application of the candidate will be rejected and the same would be considered as using Unfair Means and the candidate would be dealt with accordingly.

If someone else’s photographs have been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

The same Passport size and postcard size photographs are to be used for uploading with the online application Form and for pasting on the Attendance Sheet at the Examination Centre / Counselling / Admission.

Candidates should keep 6 to 8 passport size photos and 4 to 6 postcard size (4”X6”) colour photographs with white backgrounds for NEET exam.

Other Documents Required for NEET 2026 Application Form
Apart from the postcard size photograph, there are several other documents or files that need to be uploaded while filling the NEET 2026 application form. Take a look at the list of documents required for NEET 2026 application form-

The NTA allowed the NEET Re-Exam Address and City of Examination Choice filling facility for the candidates. The last date to make these changes in the application was May 21.
The NTA will conduct the NEET RE-Exam on June 21. The NTA will provide 15 minutes extra to the candidates and the new shift timing will be 2.00 to 5.15 PM/ This 15-minute extra time is provided to accommodate the OMR and attendance formalities.
