Highlights of the NEET Postcard Size Photograph
NTA has provided the details for the format and dimensions of the NEET postcard-size photo to be uploaded on the NEET 2026 application form. The following table brings the details regarding the NEET postcard size photographs.
Candidates have to put their left-hand thumb impression on the NEET admit card in the space provided. The thumb impression have to be put on the space provided before reaching the exam hall. NTA has not given any instruction regarding the colour of the ink, hence, if a candidate wishes to put the thumb impression with black ink, he/she can do that. However, test-takers must ensure that the thumb impression is put properly on the NEET admit card and it should match the one uploaded in the application form. Moreover, the ink should not be smudged and the impression of the thumb should not be placed anywhere else on the document except the space provided. Also, candidates must ensure that they put their own thumb impression and not anyone else's. In case there is a difference and NTA finds out about this malpractice, the candidate may be disqualified in NEET and he/she would not be eligible to take part in the counselling process even if they qualify for the exam.
The NEET centre cannot be changed after the release of admit card. Moreover, since the admit card is released around a week prior to the exam date, there is less scope of getting the centre changed. In case of an emergency, candidates are advised to contact NTA to change the exam city or centre. Since NTA will allot the exam centre in either of the preferred cities, test-takers should not have any difficulty in getting the exam city or centre of their preference.

In case a candidate signs it before that, he/she should discard the document and take a fresh print out and follow the instructions carefully. If a candidate realises this after reaching the exam centre, then they must notify the exam centre authorities and seek for their approval to allow them to appear for the exam.
