MHT CET 2025 Topper: Vaishnavi Vitthalrao Sarje scored a remarkable 100% in the MHT CET 2025 and is now considering joining the College of Engineering Pune (COEP), with plans to pursue Computer Science. Reflecting on her journey, Vaishnavi shared that her disciplined and consistent approach played a crucial role. She ensured never to miss out on classroom learning. Her preparation strategy included solving textbook exercises, working through previous years’ question papers (PYQs) and creating concise, topic-wise short notes for each subject. She emphasised that mock tests and PYQs were instrumental in her preparation, helping her identify patterns and manage time effectively.
Q: What was your initial reaction when you saw your result and realized you were among the toppers?
Vaishnavi: When I saw my MHT CET result, it felt almost expected. I had already estimated my score after reviewing the answer key. Still, securing such a high percentile and ranking among the top 10 was a truly significant and proud moment for me.
Q: Tell us something about yourself. Which board have you studied under? Which school did you study in?
Vaishnavi: I studied under the Maharashtra State Board and completed my schooling at Cambridge Vidyalaya School in Nanded.
Q: What is your score in MHT CET 2025? Which college and branch will you be opting for?
Vaishnavi: I scored 100% in MHT CET 2025. I am considering joining COEP (College of Engineering Pune), but I will take my family’s opinion before making the final decision. I have decided to pursue Computer Science (CS).
Q: When did you start your MHT CET preparation? Tell us something about your preparation strategy and daily routine.
Vaishnavi: I started my preparation two years ago. My daily routine included attending lectures regularly without skipping, revising before and after lectures, solving questions from textbooks, previous years’ papers (PYQs), daily practice papers (DPPs), and making short notes for each subject.
Q: Which subject did you find most challenging, and how did you overcome those hurdles?
Vaishnavi: Physics was the most challenging subject for me. I overcame it by solving a large number of questions repeatedly, focusing on PYQs and DPPs. I also practiced questions provided by my teachers and consistently revised formulas using my formula sheets.
As the MHT CET exam is conducted in multiple shifts, the percentile score is calculated on the basis of the number of candidates appearing in each shift and the highest marks scored in the respective shift.
As per the previous year cutoff score, candidates having ranks within 1900 to 7000 may get Maharashtra Institute of Technology Pune. However, candidates must keep in mind that the cut off may vary as it depends on various factors.
Q: How did you manage stress and stay motivated throughout the preparation journey?
Vaishnavi: I managed stress through yoga and physical activities. Motivation came from my teachers and parents, they always shared encouraging thoughts during lectures and supported me constantly, ensuring I never felt demotivated.
Q: Did you rely more on coaching institutes, self-study, or a mix of both? What worked best for you?
Vaishnavi: I attended coaching classes through PW Maharashtra on PW’s YouTube channel, which proved to be incredibly helpful. Alongside that, I dedicated a significant amount of time to self-study. I believe it was the combination of structured guidance and independent effort that worked best for me.
Q: What role did mock tests and previous years’ papers play in your preparation?
Vaishnavi: Mock tests and PYQs played a very important role. They helped me evaluate my revision progress and identify weak areas. I strongly recommend solving them consistently.
Q: Were there any specific books, online platforms, or resources you found particularly helpful?
Vaishnavi: I didn’t rely on any additional books or external platforms. My preparation was centred around solving questions from my coaching classes, daily practice papers (DPPs), textbooks, and previous years’ question papers (PYQs).
Q: Did you appear for any other engineering entrance exam? If yes, which one?
Vaishnavi: No, I did not appear for any other entrance exam. I only gave MHT CET.
Q: What advice would you give to students preparing for engineering entrance exams?
Vaishnavi: Maintain continuity in your studies. Attend all lectures, solve questions given by your teachers, stay consistent with DPPs and PYQs, and most importantly, keep giving mock tests to track your preparation.
