It is not compulsory to attempt all the question in MHT CET exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left. However, as there is NO negative marking in MHT CET exam, questions for which answer is doubtful can be attempted in last. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.
There are 150 MCQs asked in MHT CET exam question paper with four options in each question and only one option is correct. Fifty questions are asked from each subject including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. This is an online computer-based test.
MHT CET Chemistry Preparation Tips
MHT CET is a state-level entrance exam and is of JEE Main standard. Candidates should be well prepared to crack the exam. Check some tips below:
- Understand and have a strong grasp of all the basic concepts of Chemistry.
- Do focus on formulas and numericals, especially in physical chemistry.
- For organic chemistry, focus on reaction mechanisms, named reactions, and their applications. Downt just memorise the reactions, understand the theory and mechanism behind them.
- In inorganic, make sure you have by heart the periodic table. Memorise the chemical properties and trends
- NCERT should be your bible for chemistry preparation in MHT CET. Learn every concept and chapter.
- Start with the high-weightage chapter and learn every concept they have.
- Take MHT CET chemistry mock tests to understand your strengths and weaknesses.

Yes, other state candidates can apply for MHT CET, but the exam is being conducted exclusively in Maharashtra state. The CET Cell has announced the MHT CET 2026 registration fee. This year, the authorities are conducting the MHT CET exam for two sessions, thus the registration fee also changes.
