RRB NTPC 2024: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) will soon release RRB NTPC 2024 notification to recruit candidates under various graduate and undergraduate categories. RRB NTPC application form 2024 will be released along with the notification @rrbcdg.gov.in. RRB NTPC 2024 exam dates will be announced along with the notification. 

RRB NTPC 2024 notification will be released in PDF form and comprises the important details related to the exam. According to RRB NTPC eligibility, the age limit for graduate posts is 18 to 33 years, whereas, it is 18 to 30 years for undergraduate posts. The educational qualification prescribed for the graduate posts is graduation, whereas, it is Class 12 pass for undergraduate posts. RRB NTPC 2024 Application Form

RRB NTPC 2024 application form will be released online along with the notification. The application fee can be paid online and offline. The application fee for all candidates except the fee concession categories is INR 500 whereas it is INR 250 for PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class. The application fee is refunded after candidates appear for the CBT exam. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories are entitled to get a full refund of their examination fees, which is INR 250. Whereas candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC categories receive a partial refund of their examination fees, which is INR 400 after deducting the bank charges. RRB Group D is the entry-level job in the Indian railway while RRB NTPC comes under the category of group C jobs, which are next to Group D posts. Prior to the release of admit card, the city intimation slip is released 10 days before the exam. RRB NTPC admit card is an important document without which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. RRB NTPC admit card comprises details such as the candidate's name, roll number, registration number, date of birth, login ID, password, exam day guidelines, scanned photograph and signature, etc. Candidates are advised to retain their admit cards till the completion of the recruitment process.

Q:   What is RRB NTPC exam pattern for CBT 1?

The first stage CBT of RRB NTPC comprises questions from General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The test paper carries a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The first stage CBT is qualifying in nature. The test carries 100 marks. The exam is held for 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by scribe). The structure of RRB NTPC exam pattern for CBT 1 is given below.

The Railway Recruitment Board prescribes RRB NTPC syllabus for CBT 1 and 2. The syllabus is mentioned in the official recruitment notification. The exam is conducted to select candidates for various posts such as Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Station Master, etc in the Indian Railways. It is highly competitive exam and the knowledge of RRB NTPC syllabus is important to crack the exam. The syllabus of RRB NTPC highlights the topics that candidates need to cover for the exam. Q:   How normalisation affects RRB NTPC cut off?

A:

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the normalised scores. This process is followed to adjust the difficulty level of questions since the exam is conducted in multiple sessions. The scores are normalised using the equi-percentile method. For eg: If the negative marking is 1/3 and candidates have answered 80 questions, out of which 12 were wrong, then the raw score will be 80-12-12 * (1/3) = 64. Therefore, 64 is the raw score.

Q:   What are the factors that determines RRB NTPC cut off?

A:

RRB NTPC cut off is calculated based on the following factors:

  • The number of candidates appearing in the exam plays a major role in deciding the cutoff marks. If the number of candidates appearing in the exam is high, then the cutoff increases
  • The difficulty level of the exam is another determining factor for RRB NTPC cutoff marks evaluation. If the exam is difficult, then the cutoff is low
  • The number of vacancies decides the zone-wise cutoff marks. If the number of vacancies in a particular zone of RRB is more, then the cutoff marks are low

Q:   What is RRB NTPC Salary?

A:
RRB NTPC salary is different for different posts. The starting basic salary for undergraduate posts ranges between INR 19,900 to 21,700. RRB NTPC salary for graduate posts ranges between INR 25,500 to 35,400. RRB NTPC salary for Commercial cum Ticket Clerk is INR 21,700. RRB NTPC salary for Junior Clerk cum Typist is INR 19,900. RRB NTPC salary for Station Master is INR 35,400. The salary offered to the Commercial Apprentice through RRB NTPC exam is INR 35,400.

RRB NTPC Educational Qualification

RRB NTPC educational qualification for graduate-level posts is graduation from a recognised university. The educational qualification for undergraduate-level posts is Class 12 pass. The educational qualification is different for different posts.

RRB NTPC 2024 Exam Pattern

RRB NTPC exam pattern is different for different posts. RRB NTPC exam pattern highlights regarding the overall structure of the exam. As a part of the exam preparation, candidates must go through the exam pattern to know the marking scheme, total marks, time duration, etc. RRB NTPC answer keys are made available for different stages of CBTs. The stage-wise RRB NTPC exam pattern is given below.

Important Points Related to Exam Pattern

  • There is a negative marking in RRB NTPC exam. 1/3 of the marks are deducted for wrong answers. For the correct answer, candidates score one mark
  • The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent. In CBAT, candidates are required to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks
  • 20 times unique candidates are selected for CBT 2
  • Normalisation of marks is done for CBT 1, 2 and CBAT

RRB NTPC 2024 Syllabus 

RRB NTPC syllabus comprises subjects such as General Intelligence & Reasoning, Mathematics, and General Awareness. Before beginning with the preparation, candidates should prepare as per RRB NTPC syllabus as it helps them to understand the topics to cover under each section of the exam. RRB NTPC syllabus is given below.

General Awareness: History, Geography, Economy, Indian Polity and Governance, General Science, Current Affairs, etc.

Mathematics: Number System, Decimals, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportions, Time and Work, Mensuration, Percentage, Elementary Statistics, etc.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, Mathematical Operations, Coding and Decoding, Data Sufficiency, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Puzzle, etc.

RRB NTPC 2024 Admit Card 

RRB NTPC admit card 2024 will be released online on the official websites of 21 RRBs. The examination authority will release separate admit cards for different stages of exam four days before the exam. The city intimation slip is released 10 days before the exam. Candidates can download the city intimation slip to check the allotted exam city and make the travel plans accordingly. To download RRB NTPC admit card, candidates need to enter the required credentials. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. RRB NTPC hall ticket is an important document without which candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam.

  • Devote ample time to practise questions from each topic. The more you practise, the better you become equipped to handle the similar questions during the exam
  • Refer to the best RRB NTPC books to clear the concepts of the topics given in the syllabus
  • Read newspapers to stay updated with the latest current affairs
  • Memorise the important theorems and formulas as a part of RRB NTPC preparation
  • Build the speed and accuracy of solving questions and this can be developed by solving the RRB NTPC previous years’ question papers
  • Attempt mock tests to get an idea regarding how to answer questions in the exam
