SSC JE 2020-21 Paper I was conducted at the Noida Exam Centre. Shiksha.com reached out to the candidates for their take in the SSC JE Paper-I. The candidates who appeared in the SSC JE Exam 2020 shared their experience with us. The SSC JE Paper-I was easy in comparison to the previous years and the candidates can expect a higher cut off this year.
SSC JE 2020-21 Exam will be conducted from March 22 to 24, as per the new exam dates released by the Staff Selection Commission. The SSC JE Paper-I was conducted in two shifts. The timing of the first shift was 10 AM to 12 PM and the second shift will be 2 to 4 PM. The SSC JE exam Paper-I is an objective type question paper having a negative marking of 0.25 marks. The candidate needs to solve 200 hundred questions in two hours only. Besides that, for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the aggregate marks of the candidate.
The candidates talked to Shiksha.com and gave their inputs regarding the SSC JE Paper-I 2020.
Mohd. Wasim Khan - He appeared for the Mechanical Engineering branch. He talked about the previous year and this year SSC JE Paper-1. As per him, the paper was easy and follow the trend of the past years. This year, the General Awareness questions were different from the past years. This year, there were more questions from the Indian Polity section. Another important section was History. There was a good number of questions from the Indian History section. The Engineering section questions were concept based as asked in the previous years. The aptitude and reasoning section under the General Intelligence and Reasoning were easy but time-consuming. He anticipated an increase in the SSC JE Cut off.
Vikas - He appeared for the Mechanical Engineering Stream. General Awareness and Current Affairs questions were relatively different from previous years. The questions asked from some of the indexes were very simple. The question did not ask about India's ranks but the overall objective of the index was asked. As per him, the SSC JE 2020 Paper-I was easy to moderate and most of the candidates will be able to solve the questions in time. The SSC JE cutoff is expected to increase this year.
Arshad Goyal - He was a Mechanical Engineering candidate. The technical question asked in the SSC JE Paper-i were concept based and if the candidates consistently study the subject, he or she can definitely qualify in the SSC JE Paper-I. As per him, the overall paper was of moderate difficulty level. He anticipated a higher JE cutoff this year.
Pradeep - He appeared for the Mechanical Engineering branch. He found the SSC JE Paper-I very easy though he did not prepare for the current affairs and General Awareness. He anticipated that the SSC JE Paper-I cutoff will increase this year. He expects that most of the candidate will be able to solve the paper easily and hence the SSC JE Cut off see a new high this year.

The SSC JE 2025 Tier Answer Key will be released on the official website after the conduction of a Tier 1 exam. The Tier 1 exam is tentatively scheduled to be conducted from October 27 to 31, 2025. The answer key will be released in the form of a PDF, along with the question papers and candidates'

The SSC JE paper 1 is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that comprises objective-type Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). The total duration of the exam is two hours. There are three sections in the exam. The third section is further divided into three parts - Civil & Structural, Electrical and Mechanical.
