IISER 2026 registration process is over. The last date to apply for IISER 2026 was April 13, 2026. The IAT application process comprises registration, form filling, document upload, and fee payment. While filling the form, students had to upload their photograph, signature, caste certificate, class 10 & 12 certificate, PwD certificate (if applicable). The authority had specified strict rules for uploading these documents. If the documents were not as per the specification, then it is not possible to upload them. The portal for document upload and freezing of IISER preferences for IISER 2026 Admissions opened on July 2, 2026. The last date for registration and choice filling was July 9. After accepting the offer and paying the seat acceptance fee, the candidate can exercise two options:
- The candidate can FREEZE the seat (they will not participate in further rounds of counselling),
- The candidate can FLOAT (they will participate in further rounds of counselling to get their higher preferences). The FLOAT option is activated by default for those who pay the seat acceptance fee. A student who has chosen to FLOAT will again be considered for seat allocation in the next round. If they are eligible to secure a seat in an IISER that is higher in their preference list than the currently accepted one, they will be offered that seat.
IISER is a compulsory entrance test to get into the IISER Pune. IISER 2026 entrance exam will be conducted in computer-based test mode. The duration of the entrance exam is three hours, from 9 AM to 12 noon.
The IISER entrance exam was conducted on June 7, 2026. The exam was conducted as a computer-based test for three hours. Students who wished to appear for the exam had to apply online.
IISER 2026 Application Form: Documents Required
Here is the list of documents required while filling out the IAT 2026 application form:
- Class 10 Board exam or equivalent Marksheet or Pass Certificate
- Class 10 Board exam or equivalent Marksheet or Pass Certificate
- If the class 12 Board exam or equivalent) Marksheet is not available now, then you can instead upload a signed declaration form - “DECLARATION BY THE CANDIDATE IN LIEU OF ELIGIBILITY EXAM CERTIFICATE/MARKSHEET”. Fill in the form, sign it, scan it and then upload.
- Candidate's Photograph.
- Candidate's Signature.
- ID proof with photo (Aadhaar Card, driving license, etc.).

IISER Entrance Exam 2026: Photograph Upload Dimensions
The photograph must match your appearance on the day of the examination in the following dimensions:

| Colour of the Image | The photograph must be recent and must be in COLOUR. Photographs of poor resolution taken using a mobile phone and other self-composed portraits may result in the rejection of the application. |

| Maximum and Minimum Pixel | The file size of the image should be in the range of 10 kB to 200 kB. |

Note: The Candidate has to upload only his/her own photograph and signature in the format as mentioned above (and not of anybody else) in a correct/proper manner.

A good rank in the IISER exam is between 1 and 5000. This will help to get admission to the top IISER institutes. A rank between 6000 and 9000 is considered safe for admission.
IISER Entrance Exam is conducted for admission to the 5-year BS MS programme offered at the seven Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research. Apart from that, the IISER Aptitude Test scores are also accepted by IISc Bangalore for the 4-year BS course and for the BS - Medical Sciences and Engineering programme at IIT Madras. IISER Application Form 2026: Signature Upload Dimensions
While uploading the signature of the candidate, the following details need to be kept in mind:

IAT 2026 Registration: Documents Size Details
During the online application, candidates will have to upload digital copies of forms or certificates. The acceptable file sizes are mentioned below:

- 10th Marksheet 200KB- upto 1 MB
- 12th Marksheet 200KB- upto 1 MB

IAT 2026 Application Fee
The authority has released the IISER application fee 2026 for GEN, OBC, SC, and ST online. The application fee is to be paid by the applicant during the submission of the application form.
- INR 2,000 for candidates applying under General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories.
- INR 1,000 for candidates applying under persons with disabilities (PwD), persons registered as Kashmiri Migrants/Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrant) and SC/ST category.
- INR 12,000 for candidates applying under the Foreign National category.

IISER 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To meet the eligibility criteria to appear for the IISER 2026 entrance exam are given below.

The candidates must have passed the Class XII or equivalent level examination in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from any board recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education in India.

Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class 12 Board exam or equivalent.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories are required to score a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 Board or equivalent examination. Candidates belonging to other categories are required to score a minimum of 60 per cent marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class 12 Board or equivalent examination.
NOTE: The students from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), from the Kashmir division/Winter Zone areas of Jammu division and the U.T. of Ladakh, who had appeared in their Class 12 Board or equivalent level examination in December 2022, will also be eligible to apply for the IAT 2026, provided they satisfy the other eligibility criteria.
