NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, Savitribai Phule Pune University ranks #56 under the category 'University'.

Savitribai Phule Pune University has been ranked 566 in the World University category by the QS World Rankings 2026.

The MAT Result 2025 for the September session exam will be announced by the 2nd week of Oct 2025.
The MAH MBA CET 2025 CAP/Non-CAP processes are now closed for admission to MBA/PGDM and MMS courses with the release of institute-wise allotment lists.
The CMAT 2026 registration window for admission to the MBA, PGDM, and MMS courses is anticipated to open in the second week of Nov 2025.
The MAH MCA CET 2026 registration process is expected to commence from the last week of Dec 2025.

The MAH HM CET CAP 2025 procedure has ended for admission to BHMCT (4-year) and Integrated BHMCT-MHMCT (5-year) courses with the release of institute-wise allotment lists.
The GATE 2026 online application process is currently open for admission to ME/Mtech course. The last date to apply without fine fee has been extended to Oct 6, 2025. The GATE 2026 exam will be held on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.

SPPU Admission Process and Important Dates 2025

Savitribai Phule Pune University courses admissions 2025 for a majority of courses, namely MSc, MA, MTech, MCom, BA and BBA, and more, are based on the Online Entrance Exam (OEE) conducted by the Uni of Pune. Additionally, for MCA, MMM, Advanced Diploma, MPH, E-MBA, LLM and M.Lib.I.Sc courses, the admission process is completely based on merit in the previous qualifying exam (Class 12 for UG admission and UG degree for PG admission). Absolutely dissatisfied because of the faculty.

Placements: Placements are average. I don't think it's worth it to take admission in this college, especially if you are taking B.Com. The other course is average, but they didn't provide you with campus placement. You have to work hard for your placement because you are the responsible one.

Infrastructure: Everything was good at the hostel, but Wi-Fi is not available. Everything is good, and it is above average. Food is available, but it is expensive. There are so many extracurricular activities, but you should only participate if you are capable. Otherwise, don't.

Faculty: Teachers are good, and they are supportive. They are guiding you and will organize many sessions for career guidance and numerous other activities. They organize sports and many competitive activities.

Other: I opted for this course because of my future.

Great place to achieve our careers.

Placements: Till now, as far as I have seen after completion of Bachelors, the highest package is 5 LPA. In our course, if we give competitive exams such as the MPSC or UPSC, we can get appointed as a Drug Inspector. Almost everyone gets internships, and there are many top recruiters like Mcure, Serum, etc.

Infrastructure: We have bigger classrooms and good benches, also a huge library and corridors, but the Wi-Fi is null and the projectors in our classrooms are too old that it takes 10 minutes to start the class, we have canteens, but don't have a ground to play sports like cricket or football.

Faculty: Teaching is well-qualified and has a great teaching sense, as they help students perfectly, but also make students industry-ready, as we have practicals, which help us out. The exams are, on average, a bit easy, a bit hard, but lengthy. To pass in every subject, you should score 50 or more out of 100.

Other: I chose this field as it has great opportunities and a future that needs dedication, and it is not going to stop. Our course has too many exams, which is a bit hectic. We have events, but we have to manage between exams or studies.

The faculty members are not supportive but placements are good.

Placements: 50% of students were placed from our college. The highest package was 4.5L per annum, and the lowest was 1.5L per annum. The average package was 3.5L per annum. Deloitte, Accenture, Capgemini, and Cognizant were some of the technical companies that came for college placements. Internships were offered to none in our course as they were mainly focused on placement.

Infrastructure: Faculty members are not so supportive there. Mainly 2-3 faculty members are supportive. The hostel was bad. The food was not proper and was not properly made. The quality of food is absolutely bad; only poha was good in the canteen. For sports, we had only one ground, and that was for basketball only.

Faculty: Teachers were not helpful. In fact, teachers only taught what was in the book. They did not tell us what frameworks are used in the industry. No, this course is only for basic purposes. It does not make students industry-ready at all. We have to do courses outside of the college. Because of internal marks, no one fails.

Other: I wanted to go into the computer science field. I would recommend this college if they increase their campus and maintain supportive faculty members. There was only one event, though.

I picked this college for computer engineering due to low cut-off.

Placements: Other branch students are getting placed, but computer engineering students are still left behind. Until last year, many computer engineering students did not get placed because of lack of sufficient knowledge and training. However, now the college has started proper training and placement program to help students prepare for companies. College is making efforts so that students can secure placements.

Infrastructure: There is no proper canteen facility. Students don't get good food or snacks. Many classrooms remain wet and give off a bad smell, and it makes difficult to sit. The college has no girls' hostel, only a boys hostel is available. There are also no nearby stationary stores or shops, which creates convenience for students.

Faculty: Some faculty members are new and lack teaching experience which affects the learning process. But few faculty members have good knowledge and experience. Their teaching is helpful for students, and the passing marks or criteria are decided by Savitribai Phule Pune University and not by the college. This college is non-autonomous.

Other: I chose this college because I specifically wanted admission to the computer engineering branch. The cutoff here is low as compared to other colleges. College has a very small student crowd. The scholarship section staff behave rudely, often scolding students, and they do not refund the remaining scholarship amount to the student's personal account.

Placements: 60% of students were placed in my course. Top recruiting companies are B.M.C. Software, IBM, and Barclays. The highest package is 14 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 6.5 LPA. Top roles include Software Developer and Software Engineer. Mass recruiters like TCS, Capgemini, and Tech Mahindra also hire many students from the college.

Infrastructure: The college has very good infrastructure. Labs are well-equipped, and cleanliness and hygiene are well-maintained. The bad part is that security asks for an ID card at one gate but not at another, this seems illogical. There are sports and gym facilities, a huge badminton court, and a cricket net also available.

Faculty: Some faculty members are very helpful. They will guide you throughout the journey. Some are like that, they think no one can compete with them, like some have a wrong attitude. However, they will help you, but they demand some formalities.

It is one of the best colleges I ever had.

Placements: Placement drives are not held in our college. No package or anything is provided in the college. Internships are available. We have to pay fees for internships, and also we can learn many things from the internship program. Junior scientist or researcher roles are offered after completion of the course.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is old, but its look is very new. Jammers are there on every floor. There is no Wi-Fi for students. The library is good and well-maintained. The perfect aesthetic library is available. The hostel is strict and good. Mess or canteen food is average. Sports are done in a very good manner. Students play many games at the state level.

Faculty: Faculty members are too good. They all are PhD holders, well-experienced and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant, and students can do anything with plant research and development. Exams are quite tough, and the pass percentage is above 34%. The college is autonomous, so there is no need to worry about passing.

Other: I love botany from my HSC, so I chose this course. Loving plants is my hobby and this subject is close to my heart. Things like chemicals, plant materials, Alage, stone, and many more things are getting old now, so the college needs to take new stock for that. The college organises fests in the month of January and February like saree day, mismatch day, etc. All students have fun in fests.

As per the cut-off records, the last round cutoff score for the year 2024 closed off at 99.95 for PUMBA MBA General- All India category. Whereas, the CAT percentile for SPPU MBA cutoffs was 85 in 2024. Meanwhile, the BE in Computer Engineering (General-All India) exam had a 4728 score, while the BE in Metallurgical Engineering closed off at 30865. For entrances, such as the MAH CET, the cut-off 2024 closed at the percentile 99.95. Candidates must be aware of the cutoff trends to get a better chance at admission to Unipune. SPPU Courses and Fees 2025

SPPU offers UG, PG, certificate, diploma and doctoral degrees courses across 50+ departments and institutes housed on and off-campus. A majority of PG courses are available on the campus of UOP Pune. Most UG courses are offered by various affiliated colleges and recognised institutes in three districts, namely Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik. Uni of Pune offers UG and PG level programmes based on merit and entrance. SPPU fee structure involves tuition fees of these courses varying from INR 3 K to INR 17 Lakh.

For candidates appearing for SPPU UG level admissions, the eligibility criteria require securing a minimum aggregate of 35% to 70% in Class 12. Whereas, candidates aspiring for PG level admissions must secure a minimum aggregate of 45% to 60% in graduation. Additionally, candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as GATE, MAT, CAT, NEET, JEE Main, GPAT, NATA, CEED, MHCET Law and many more, depending on the course opted.

Candidates can apply for Savitribai Phule Pune University courses admissions through the Online Entrance Exam (OEE), conducted by the University. Candidates must register for candidature and enrol for the entrance exam at first through the college-level application. As per the qualification for the entrance exam, candidates will be selected, and a merit list will be released for the result declaration. For the final admission, candidates must appear for document verification and pay the fee for final seat allotment.

SPPU Application Process 2025

Pune University organises admission online. Candidates can visit the official website of the University and apply via OEE 2025. After filling out the application form, candidates must upload the documents along with the application form and submit a copy. SPPU has an application fee for the form, which may vary from General to reserved. The application fee for the General category candidates is INR 600 (INR 750 for late fee) and INR 400 (INR 550 with late fee) for the reserved category. For final admission, candidates must produce the original documents for the verification process at the University. Fabricated documents may result in the cancellation of admission.

Savitribai Phule Pune University has faculty which also proactively participates in securing the campus and maintaining a code of conduct at the campus.

The SPPU campus comprises two main buildings; the architecture of the main building is very attractive and includes four halls: Yashwantrao Chavan Sabhagriha, Sant Dnyaneshwar Sabhagriha, Shivaji Sabhagriha, and Sant Gadge Maharaj Sabhagriha. The Savitribai Phule Pune University campus features several additional buildings, including the Administrative Building, Students Welfare Department, Competitive Examination Centre, Jayakar Library, Humanities Building, Printing Press, 7 Boys and 6 Girls Hostels, various Canteens, and a Refectory. Other facilities available on campus include Wi-Fi, 24/7 CCTV surveillance, and a health centre.

How to Reach Pune University?

Pune airport is nearly 12 km from SPPU. Cabs (Prepaid taxi/ Ola/ Uber) and auto rickshaw service is available from Pune Airport to reach the University. Pune Central railway station is nearly 6 kms away from SPPU.

Some of the historical facts about Savitribai Phule Pune University:

Established on February 10, 1949, under the Poona University Act, Savitribai Phule Pune University became a centre of attention for Shri BG Kher, Chief Minister and Education Minister, Govt of Bombay.
Due to the efforts and best interests of Shri BG Kher, the 411 acres of land was leased for 999 years at the most nominal rent in history, INR 1 PA without any taxes.
The Uni of Pune began with the affiliation of 18 colleges and 8 K students.
Right after the year 1949, UniPune increased by 41 post-graduate departments, 209 affiliated colleges, 118 recognised research institutions and 1 Lakh+ students for undergraduate and post-graduate courses.
The Pune University granted recognition to 70 research institutions that hold national importance such as MACS, CWPRS, NIV, and Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics.
The Main Building of Savitribai Phule Pune University is known to be the residence of the governors of Bombay during the British Raj.
The Main Building was inspired by Prince Albert’s Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, built in 1864, it was designed by James Trubshawe.
