IIT Bombay Cutoff 2025: Check Category-wise JEE Advanced Cutoff Ranks

To secure seat at IIT Bombay for CSE, students should obtain rank as per the cutoff list. For BTech CSE admission, cutoff was 23 for EWS All India category candidates. Therefore, they should get a rank of 23 or below to secure a seat as per the last round cutoff list.

IIT Bombay admissions are entrance-based. Candidates must also fulfil the requirements specified by the institute. The eligibility criteria varies course-wise at IIT Bombay. Check below the eligibility of top IIT Bombay courses:

For the female-only (including Supernumerary) category, the Round 1 closing rank of the IIT Bombay cutoff 2026 ranged from 395 to 14289 for BTech admission. Candidates can refer to the table below to view the branch-wise cutoff 2026 for the female-only category. 

IIT Bombday JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 has been released for admission to the BTech and BS courses. The round 1 cutoff for the General AI category ranged from 65 to 7099, with BTech CSE and B.Tech. in Environmental Science and Engineering being the most difficult engineering branches for admission. 

Overall, the least competitive course in the first round was B.S. in Chemistry, with the cutoff of 7099 for the General AI quota. See the table below for the round 1 cutoff for all other courses. 

IIT Bombay GATE cutoff 2026 was released till round 1 for admission to the M.Tech course for various All India categories.

For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 325 to 650. Hence,  a score of at least 325 is required to be eligible for admission in the first round. Students can refer to the list of pointers below to see the cutoff range of other categories.

For 2024, cut off was 2545 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 6650 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

GATE is one of the entrance exams for PhD admission. However, aspirants can also get admission in PhD based on CSIR NET/ CEED/ UGC NET or written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview round for final selection. Along with GATE score, candidates also need to fulfil the eligibiltiy requirements. Aspirants must complete Bachelor or Masters or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Technology or master's or equivalent degree in Science or Arts/ Commerce with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) for PhD admission.

Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree (BA/ BCom or other degrees) or a four-year BA, BS, BTech or an earlier postgraduate degrees such as MA, MSc, etc. with a minimum of 60% aggregate for GN/ EWS/ OBC (NC) and 55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD can apply for MA by Research. Aspirants shall keep the documents for verification ready at the time of admission as well.

The GATE cutoff is the minimum mark that an aspirant needs to score to be eligible for admission to M.Tech, M.Sc. And Ph.D. courses offered at the participating institutes. There are several factors based on which the cutoff is decided. Those who will obtain the GATE cutoff will be eligible to participate in the CCMT counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs, and COAPS for admission to IITs. Therefore, factors that determine the GATE cutoff are:

The difficulty level of the GATE question paper. The number of candidates taking the paper. The total number of available seats. The marks obtained by the aspirants. Category under which the candidate is seeking admission. 

The minimum COAP score accepted for admission in IIT Bombay is 325 for the MTech in Earth Sciences (Geoexploration) course for the General AI category. This rank is based of the IIT Bombay cutoff 2026. Look at the list below to know the minimum score acceptable for other categories.

As per the list above, admission for SC and ST AI categories was the easiest among all other categories. Please note that different rounds will have different cutoffs.

A minimum of Class 12 is required to apply for BDes course at IIT Bombay. Below is the detailed eligibility:

• Aspirants should have obtained a rank in UCEED. A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
• Candidates need to pass all five subjects in Class 12 or equivalent. Those who have appeared for the first time in the qualifying exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible.
