GGSIPU BTech Highlights 2026
BTech at GGSIPU is a four-year, UG level engineering course that is offered in full-time mode only. GGSIPU BTech course is offered across many specialisation by its affiliated institutes which includes BTech in CSE, AI Machine Learning, etc.
- Admission Process: JEE Main Paper 1 for all BTech specialisations except Biotechnology | For BTech in Biotechnology: IPU CET or CUET

Yes, GGSIPU offers a four-year full-time BTech course across twenty-one specialisations at the undergraduate level. IPU BTech admission is completely entrance-based. Candidates seeking admission to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's BTech course must visit the official website of the University to apply online. Some of the BTech specialisations offered at IP University include Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical & Automation and Computer Science & Engineering, among others.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University's annual hostel cost is INR 29,500. Mess and welfare fees are not included in the hostel fees. The fee for the mess is INR 36,000, while the cost of the welfare is INR 3,000. Candidates need to submit three demand drafts: one for hostel fees, one for mess charges, and one for welfare charges. Two hostels are maintained on campus for male students, and two are maintained for female students. There are more than 180 single-seat rooms in each hostel. Basic furnishings such as a cot, mattress, pillow, chair, table, cupboard, tube lamp, and fan are provided in each room. Mess facilities are available for residents in each hostel. No, GGSIPU doesn't offer direct admission. IP University does not allow any of the affiliated colleges/institutes/agencies to grant direct admission to any of the courses of the university.
BTech tuition fees at GGSIPU is INR 7.6 Lacs for all BTech courses in the academic year 2026. However, candidates are also required to pay other fees in the form of university charges, alumni deposit, development and infrastructure fees and others on top of the aforementioned tuition fees.

Yes, GGSIPU accepts CUET scores. For UG courses, CUET-UG and similarly for the PG courses, CUET-PG is applicable. However, it must be noted that preference is given to CUET scores after the respective national-level exams and the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the university. Some of the UG and PG programmes for which this entrance score is accepted are MCA, MA, BSc, BBA and allied programmes, BPharm, BCom (Hons), etc.
The tuition fees for the BTech (lateral entry) corses at GGSIPU is INR 5.6 Lacs in 2026. This fees contains the tuition fees for 2026, 2027 and 2028. Candidates will be paying the installments of other fee components for the above mentioned years with the BTech (lateral entry) tuition fees.

GGSIPU BTech Admission Dates 2026
GGSIPU BTech admission dates usually begin in the month of February every year. The schedule of the IPU CET, JEE Mains and CUET is looked when scheduling GGSIPU BTech deadline. Thus, candidates must keep track of the dates of one of the aforementioned entrance exams to not miss applying for BTech at GGSIPU.
JEE Mains dates for the first session are scheduled between the months of Novermber and December. CUET-UG dates are scheduled between the months of January and July every year. Indraprastha University BTech admission is done on the basis of a valid score of JEE Main or CUET. The university offers BTech for four-years divided into eight semesters. The IPU BTech course selection is done by a centralised counselling of the course.

GGSIPU BTech application process can only be completed in online mode. Candidates who apply for the GGSIPU BTech course admissions need to ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for their chosen BTech course. GGSIPU admission to the BTech courses accept different entrance exam based on the specific BTech course chosen by a candidate.

STEP 1: GGSIPU BTech Application Process
The first step of the GGSIPU BTech application process is to register for the entrance exam. To register for the JEE Mains, candidates need to go to its official NTA portal and register on the portal. The same process is followed for CUET-UG registrations on its own NTA portal.
After the candidates have registered for the aforementioned entrance exams or if they are applying through IPU CET, candidates have to follow the steps below:
- Go to the official website of GGSIPU (www.ipu.ac.in).
- Click on the 'Admission' tab
- Click on 'Online Admission Form'
- Select BTech from the drop-down menu
- Upload the documents
- Pay the application fee
The GGSIPU BTech application fee is INR 2,500 for all the courses.
STEP 2: Candidate Selection
After the candidates have successfully submitted their BTech admission forms, GGSIPU will begin the application screening process. For BTech admissions except the BTech in Biotechnology course, candidates will be selected based on JEE Mains scores. However, if any seats remain unalloted after the admission are over, those seats will be filled thorugh the CUET-UG exam.
Candidates applying for the BTech in Biotechnology course are shortlisted based on the scores obtained in either IPU CET or CUET-UG exam.
STEP 3: Counselling and Admission Confirmation
The final step of the BTech admission process at GGSIPU is completed during the counselling rounds. GGSIPU will call the candidates who are shortlisted for admissions to allow them to lock their preferences regarding college and BTech course. The allotment of seats to these candidates will be based on availability of seats, candidate's rank and other factors.
Once the candidate's have been alloted a seat in their preferred BTech course and affiliated institute, they must go to the campus of their chosen institute for the document verification process. After the documents have been verified, candidates will need to pay the GGSIPU BTech admission fees.
The admission fees might be small of portion of the first instalment of tuition fees which ranges from INR 2.32 lakh - 7.86 lakh .

GGSIPU engineering cutoff 2026 has not been released yet. However, the cutoff trends for the BTech (lateral entry) course for Diploma holders has been released by the authorities for 2025. For the IPU BTech course, the selection is based on JEE Main/CUET/IPU CET. The university published a cutoff list to declare the minimum scores required in an exam for a candidate to become eligible for admission.
