NIT Rourkela is an awesome college.
Placements: Now let's talk about placements. This college’s placements are nice. Around 74% to 82% of students get placed in our course. The highest salary package in our college is 64 LPA, the average salary package is 18 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 9 LPA. Companies like Aditya Birla, Tata, Cipla, and PhonePe recruit students from our course.
Infrastructure: Facilities available in our hostel include Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Fully air-conditioned classrooms are available in our college. A central library is also available on our campus, and books can be issued by students. The quality of food in the mess is average. There are three canteens available on our campus, and the fast food is good. We have a small ground to play different sports like volleyball, football, and cricket.
Faculty: Professors are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. All of them are PhD holders. The courses are relevant to industry needs. Besides, one has to prepare himself/herself too. Each semester has two exams, a midterm and an end-of-term exam. One needs to have at least 35% in order to pass the course.

This is a very unique course; you will enjoy this college
Placements: Many companies come for engineering students. For post-graduate students, companies like Byjus, Aakash, and FIITJEE visit. Summer internships are compulsory for students in my college. I got a chance to do it at NCRA (TIFR Pune). Every year, 50 percent of students opt for placement and 25 percent are placed. Usually, a written round is followed by an interview for placement. Our college makes us practice for these in an online mode.
Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped with instruments. All sorts of competitions happen, and workshops on robotics, AutoCAD, etc., also take place. The hostel rooms are small, and we have double-sharing rooms, as well as triple and single-sharing rooms. Hostel is compulsory for everyone. The library is accessible throughout the day. Other facilities include a medical store, hospital, swimming pool, gym, student activity center, data center, etc. We have a lot of fests all throughout the year.
Faculty: The courses here are well-structured and research-oriented. The faculty members are really good and helpful. Even the Ph.D. scholars interact with us frequently. Many students get placed in different companies from here. For engineering students, industrial visits occur very often. Examinations are regularly conducted under strict administration.

Very unique course and this is the best place.
Placements: We have organised a placement cell in our college. They shall assist us in all possible ways. Lots of emails and messages shall be sent to students to be prepared for the upcoming campus placements of various companies. Many companies provide internships to deserving candidates. L&T, IBM, TCS, Amazon, Flipkart, Deloitte, Practo, Microsoft, and various companies that provide internships with a stipend of at least Rs. 5000 per month.
Infrastructure: The campus is so elegant, so beautiful, just looking like a wow. Everything is there, for example, the gym, swimming pool, labs, Wi-Fi, hostel, and mess. Labs are well-equipped. Classrooms are spacious and digitally updated. There are many grounds for different sports. Hostels are very good. Food is outstanding.
Faculty: The course curriculum is short and crisp. It depends on the branch that we opt for. Every semester, there is an internal followed by a main examination. Practical as well as theoretical to check the deep knowledge of students. Our faculty members are top-class faculty you can ever imagine. The way they teach is practically apart from a theoretical base. These make a student think of themselves as scientists, being multi-talented is much needed.

Q:   How is NIT Rourkela cutoff marks determined?
    A:

The NIT Rourkela GATE CCMT cutoff 2025 is determined based on a few key factors:

    1. Total number of seats available: The cutoff primarily depends on the total number of seats available in medical colleges across the country for that particular year.
    2. Number of candidates appearing for the exam: The larger the number of candidates appearing for NEET, the higher the competition and the higher the cutoff scores.
    3. Difficulty level of the question paper: If the question paper is perceived to be difficult in a given year, the cutoff scores tend to be lower to account for the tougher exam. Conversely, an easier paper may result in higher cutoff scores.
    4. Normalisation process: NEET UG uses a normalisation process to ensure fairness across multiple sessions of the exam. This normalisation takes into account the difficulty level of each session's question paper.

After analysing all these factors and ensuring a fair and equitable selection process, the final cutoff for each category is determined by SVNIT Surat, which is the governing body for CCMT admissions. The cutoff marks are published after the declaration of results.

    Excellent college for research.
Placements: The National Institute of Technology Rourkela is one of the premier colleges. The placements are good for UG students. However, for PG, the placements are not that good. For Power Systems Engineering, the placement percentage is almost 50%. The lowest package will be 6 LPA, and the highest package will be around 13-15 LPA. The average percentage will be 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is too good. The Wi-Fi speed needs to be increased. It's 20 Mbps, but we typically get around 15-17 Mbps. The labs, library, and classrooms are very good. The hostel is good, but the food quality and taste need to be improved. The medical facility is also good.
Faculty: Many faculty members are excellent. They teach the subjects very well, and in the labs, they allow us to do anything we want. However, a few faculty members are not that good. The curriculum is somewhat difficult and is more research-oriented. The passing percentage is 90-100% for PG.

NIT Rourkela for M.Tech electronic and communication course intake in 2025-26.
Placements: Total 4 to 5 batches were available, and total 300 students got admission in this course. Many companies were interested and hiring the students. The highest package was 4 LPA to 10 LPA provided by the college.
Infrastructure: In this college, infrastructure quality was very good. The college canteen food was very good. High-quality food was provided at this college. Every year organised sports and games tournaments were held for every student but they charged Rs 100 for participating in events.
Faculty: College faculty members were also good. College teachers were very educated and very helpful to the students. This course had total 8 teachers and was allocated separately for the practical lecture. This course was very difficult to pass because there were 300 marks compulsory to clear the exam out of 800 marks, and there were all subjects marks.

My honest review about my college.
Placements: Placement was 100% for those who were interested. It also provided internships to other institutes. But those students who were studying at this college were not allowed to do an internship in its own institute. All companies in our stream were related to coaching institutes.
Infrastructure: M.Sc. electronics and communication was a technical course. Course had many software simulation software like MATLAB, PSpice, and HDL for circuit designing, computation, and automation control systems. Here, the foremost focus was on the students to develop new interests in their interested fields. Hostel rooms were the best. For masters students, they provided single room. There were 7 hostels, 5 for boys and 2 for girls. Each hostel had on average 500 rooms. Everyday they clean bathrooms, toilets, and hostels. Each week, they spread mosquito pesticide.
Faculty: Course covers most of the part of the CSIR UGC NET life science syllabus distributed in 4 semesters which helped clear CSIR UGC NET GATE BARC, ICMR, TIFR, IISC, DBT, etc. exams. Also includes 1 year of project work which will enhance your research skills and experience. There were 14 faculty members in life science department. All were post doctorate and had fruitful research background with many funding bodies. All faculty members were highly experienced, and experts in their relevant field with many publications.

The college campus is very friendly.
Placements: But the placements in my college are really good. All students who get a CGPA of seven or above can sit for Amazon and Microsoft placements, and for Google, it is 8 CGPA, and they check your projects and works and everything. This year, the average package went about 18 LPA for computer science, and many of the students got placed. The highest was 1.2 crores this year.
Infrastructure: The annual tech first is called Innovation, where a lot of celebrities also come and give TED Talks. There is a large accessibility of books and journals available in the library, everything between from finance to quantum physics. Sports are heavily pushed here, from badminton grounds to cricket stadiums and volleyball courts, and there are many social groups and clubs and a student portal as well as even counseling support clubs.
Faculty: Faculty in all colleges are somewhat the same; some are good, and some are a pain for students, but it's best to just keep doing your business and study properly. The exams aren't too difficult, but I would recommend starting to study at least 2 weeks prior to your exams. The correction again depends from subject to subject and upon the teachers as well. There are mid-sems and end-sems, and some teachers take class tests to grade your internals or give assignments to grade them.

Faculty: Supportive professors and administrative staff.
Placements: Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, etc. and all service-based companies are our regular recruiters. Microsoft and Google have visited the campus and gave the highest package of 2500000. Tata Ceramics, Cera, and Vedanta recruit ceramic engineers. All of us are placed in my batch from Ceramic Engineering. Alumni is very strong for our NIT; this is more than 60-year-old college. I have no idea on startups from my batch.
Infrastructure: We have dual sharing rooms and single sharing rooms divided across 11 different hostels. Meal quality is quiet horrible but edible. Registration for the hostel and its affordability are quite stringent. But there is a provision for pure vegetarian eaters among all hostilities.
Faculty: The M.Tech program at NIT Rourkela features a well-structured curriculum with a mix of core and elective courses. The faculty members are experienced and well-qualified. I selected this program for its Ph.D. or equivalent degrees and its academic reputation, industry connections, and research opportunities. NIT Rourkela maintains a favorable faculty-to-student ratio, ensuring individualized attention and guidance. The faculty holds employs a practical, application-oriented teaching approach. Term exams are typically conducted on schedule, and pass difficulty varies by course, with ample support provided for success.
