VIT Vellore Courses & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate Courses

Vellore Institute of Technology offers 66 UG, 58 PG, 15 integrated and two each of Research and M.Tech (Industrial) courses across multiple streams. The top courses of the institute, include BTech, MTech, MBA, etc. Candidates after completing Class 12 can apply for UG courses and graduation is necessary to apply for the PG courses. A pass in regular, full-time UG/ Integrated degree from a recognised institute/ university of at least three years duration with a minimum of 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ ST candidates and applicants belonging to Jammu & Kashmir and North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) is required to apply for the MBA course. 

Additionally, the institute shortlists candidates for MBA course based on national-level entrance exams like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, NMAT, ATMA. The shortlisted aspirants are further required to come for the PI round. Vellore Institute of Technology will also consider the academic performance and work experience of the candidates for final selection.

The institute offers over 20 BTech specialisations, namely Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Civil, Chemical, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, etc. Candidates, who have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% (50% aggregate for reserved categories) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 from a recognised board, can take admission to BTech course. The Vellore Institute of Technology has announced the VITMEE exam dates on the official website. VITMEE exam was scheduled for April 28, 2026 and May 3, 2026. Applicants had to carry their VITMEE admit card along with one valid photo ID proof at the exam centre. 

VITEEE 2026 exam dates will be announced. The candidates will have to select their preferred slot. VITEEE 2026 application form will have to be submitted before the final date for the eligible candidates to be registered for the examination.

With a rank of 75,000 it is not possible to get admission in VIT Vellore. Especially the core branches, such as CSE. The cutoff generally goes very high for VIT Vellore. However, with this rank, students may try applying for other VIT Campuses.

No, VIT Vellore admissions are not solely based on VITEEE. The university conducts VITEEE for BTech admission, VITMEE for MTech admissions and VITREE for PhD admission. The institute accepts national-level entrance exams like CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc., for MBA course. However, admission to a few other courses, including BSc, BSc (Hons), BCA, BCom, MSc, MCA, among others, is based on the aggregate obtained by the candidates in previous qualifying degree/ exam (merit-based). No, candidates can not get direct admission in VIT Vellore. The college provides an admission process to students on the basis of an entrance exam for the majority of the courses. Some of the popular national-level entrance exams accepted by the college are NATA, GATE, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, etc. 

Admission to the VIT Vellore B.Tech course is based on the VITEEE score. VIT Engineering Entrance Exam is a computer-based test conducted for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The VITEEE question paper consists of 125 questions. The questions will be based on Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitude. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.
