CSE Cyber Security VIT Vellore. What you must know.

Placements: In B.Tech Cyber Security as of 5th March, approximately 60 to 65% of students got placed. Maximum CTC 45 LPA by Adobe PPO, Minimum 3.45 LPA, Average 7.9 LPA. The top recruiters are Adobe PPO, and Commvault. Apart from the one who got placed, nearly 5-10% of the total got internships. The top roles are Software Developer, Cyber Security Engineer.

Infrastructure: The newly developed hostel blocks are way too good and spacious, some old blocks are also getting improved facilities, like ACs and others. Wi-Fi facility is good usable but only up to 12-12:20 midnight. Labs are decent with good facilities best in the newly built ones. Classrooms are normal school-type classrooms with nearly 65-70 students per class, and there are no ACs in classrooms. The library is seriously worth raising, it has a lot of resource material, and there is a quiet environment not in Exam ever. As for my hostel, it's also good. The college has a lot of trees and cleanliness they have placed little dustbins all over the campus.

Faculty: The curriculum for the course is designed properly. In the first 2-3 semesters, you will have to study all the common subjects, but then there are courses designed specifically for cyber security. Some faculty members are quite good, while others are typical college-type professors. The curriculum is relevant, and if followed properly, it makes one industry-ready too. Exams are easy to pass. However, if you want to score well, you need to study a bit harder. The first CAT1 and final FAT exams of the semester are closed-book, while the second exam CAT2 is open-book.

Other: I chose this course because I am interested in cyber security. Although, if there were subjects related only to CSE, that would be better. Also, if you are in this college, you won't feel alone or bored because there are a lot of people here and various events happen almost every day from different clubs. The annual fest, RIVIERA, is the best thing you'll experience here. This year's RIVIERA was, by far, the best fest I've seen.

Other: If you are coming to VIT don't take B.Teach in CSBS .
